Climatologist James Lovelock (http://www.jameslovelock.org/Links to an external site.), originator of the Gaia hypothesisLinks to an external site., once said that Earth’s greatest enemies were the Three C’s: cars, cows, and chainsaws because of their contributions to destabilizing the planetary climate.
For this assignment you will answer the following questions to show your ability to find connections among the environmental issues that you have learned about in this course and that is covered and interconnected within Modules 3 and 4 – Food and Climate Change in particular.
You must cite specific evidence from Unit 2 or other sources to support each of your responses. Note: any directly quoted statements, information, or data need to be properly cited. Usage of AI (Chat GPT) is not allowed. Be aware of plagiarism and cite any sources that you may quote or closely paraphrase. Any assignments with Turnitin similarity scores that are considerably high will not be accepted for a grade, although be aware that copying over the assignment questions (which is OK to do) will increase the similarity score, although I will be on the look-out for that and will be considered if there is a “high” similarity score. 1) Describe what is the Gaia hypothesis. What are the implications of the Gaia hypothesis where man made climate change is concerned?
