Case Study: Barbara Norris: Leading Change in the General Surgery Unit
Analyze the case and use clear and concise executive briefing communication with the idea that you are writing a briefing for a CEO to consider.
These should be submitted as five sections. (Do NOT write narrative for this case study; only write in bullet points) and do not deviate from this format:
Section 1 – Introduction to the Organization (What does this organization do? Who are its key leaders? Etc).
Section 2 – Leadership Problems/Issues Facing the Organization
Section 3 – Recommendations
Section 4 – Metrics or indicators of Success (may be quantitative or qualitative) o What measure will you use to determine if the recommendations you’ve proposed address the problems you’ve identified (for example: “Staff turnover rate is reduced”)
Section 5 – Anticipated Outcomes The following will be used to evaluate your submissions: • The extent to which you get your points across with concise and precise language • Reasonableness of recommendations, metrics/indicators, and outcomes.
