Research Project Proposal Format: The proposal must not have more than 10 pages (including references; exclude title page). This section includes a statement of the hypotheses (or objectives), along with the anticipated research product (key questions with measurable outcomes). Methods and Supplies This section will describe the methods to be used in the research project with necessary references. This will include: definition of population sampling design study design instrumentation definition of variables (theoretical and operational) methods of data collection (be specific) proposed statistical analyses for each type of comparison and test(s) Timeline A proposed timeline (covering the entire project), including short and long term goals, should be provided. This is an exercise, make approximation of time periods. You may structure the timeline as you wish (so long as it is easily read and understood). See syllabus for examples. Limitations List and describe potential limitations of the proposed study (e.g. limitation in terms of potential biases, inherent errors of analyses/measurements, availability of data/subjects, generalizability, etc.). Explain potential threats to internal and external validity. Describe the measure you will use to minimize or control these potential limitations. References for proposal You will be required to have a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed references (excluding commentaries, meta-analyses, and literature reviews). You may use commentaries, meta-analyses, and literature reviews; however, they will not count towards the 10 required references. References should be provided in a reference section and in-text citations in AMA format.
