Topic: Discussion Answers – Wills Trusts and Estate

When a person is performing the acts which constitute undue influence, it is a
subtle form of persuasion exercised over a period of time. If the matter is proved
at a trial, the will is set aside. The influencer will not receive anything from the
estate unless he was in a prior will which is reestablished by the court because the
current will is invalid. He could also receive a distribution under the intestate
succession statute. Should he be barred because of his action? Why or why not?

2. Probate litigation is the only form of litigation which does not require a summons
to obtain personal jurisdiction over a person. The petitioner only needs to provide
a formal notice sent via certified mail to the proponent of the will. (This is also
usually the personal representative) Do you think this is a correct procedure? Why
or why not?

3. Probate litigation is often called a marathon not a sprint. This is because it
normally takes about 1.5 to 2 years to get a trial date. A reason for the delay in
obtaining trial dates is that probate judges hear cases involving litigation, probate
procedures, guardianships and any other matter which may involve a deceased.
What can be done to assist the judges and help speed up the process?

Topic: Survey analysis and prsentation

Using the SPSS program (Data and the output will be uploaded)
analyze the output using 5 variables below:
1-Demographic 2-Reliability 3-Standard deviation 4-Correlation(use the tables from the data) 5-Multiple Regression

Topic: Semiotic analysis of a movie,or a television program

If you select a television program, be sure to focus your paper around 1-2 episodes
rather than around the series as a whole. For example, if you select Breaking Bad as
your text, you may discuss the various characters in the program (e.g.Walter, Jesse,
Skylar, Mike, Guss, and Sal),but you should also call attention to specific moments of
dialogue and specific situations in particular episodes.

Note the signs/images in the text such as clothing, setting, body positioning, words
(dialogue) and any other elements that the text incorporates. Draw conclusions about
what those signs/images stand for and what cultural messages, values, norms are being
invoked and why. Use these notes to develop your argument: what overall
interpretation can you offer about the text?

The paper should include an informative and interesting title.
Body paragraph 1: should explain title + historic or cultural background.
Body paragraph 2: should provide a summary.

Topic: Site Visit Analysis – The representation of the stolen generation through the testimonies at Bunjilaka Museum.

So this is a site analysis of a museum BUT and the representation of the stolen generation through testimonies and stories at the Bunjilaka Museum. Do not stress, the documents that I will be putting forward have detailed explanations about the site ( open for you to reference).

I would like the site analysis to be focused on HOW the stolen generation of aboriginal Australians are conveyed in the site ( either through testimonies or stories). I will attach a essay which explains how it is conveyed. I want to see how the Stolen Generation was impacted by assimilation policies and how the government denied that they were responsible. I would like to include ways that Aboriginal communities can provide hands-on experiences, to help strengthen their cultural awareness, identity and the connection they share with their ancestors and also by exploring self-determination that will provide insight to the traditional values and beliefs that Indigenous Australians need to preserve.

Apart from this, I would also like these key questions answered

1) How and with what implications does the site/exhibition that you choose represent both collective and individual memory?
2. How and with what implications does the site/exhibition that you choose represent trauma?
3. How and with what implications does the site/exhibition that you choose represent the relationship between history and memory?

Furthermore, I will attach every site analysis on the internet to further your understanding on the subject.

There is also an instruction sheet that explains the assignment more clear, alongside some essays that you can grab ideas and concepts from.

Topic: Australian Social Policy / policy analysis paper

Policy Analysis paper. This is not essay

Youth allowance

Structure your analysis using the following criteria:
1. Outline the historical development of the policy including other linked policies (e.g Youth Allowance) highlighting key changes (600 words).
2. Critically discuss key issues and issue drivers identified within the policy and government literature in relation to relevant commentary and scholarly literature. In particular critically examine the core values, beliefs and assumptions underpinning the policy (1,000 words).
3. Discuss key findings from evaluation of the policy – including government and non-government evaluations – highlighting strengths and weakness (600 words).

Guidelines for Policy analysis paper
Critically analyse the following social policies:
• Youth allowance
Use the structure and guidelines below for your assignment.
1. Outline the historical development of the policy including other linked policies (eg Youth Allowance and Work for the Dole ) highlighting key changes (600 words).
You should provide a succinct background to your chosen policy highlighting key changes over time (especially over the past 10-15 years) and very briefly outline the connections/links between your chosen policy and others. You should use a wide range of sources especially from government departments/agencies.
2. Critically discuss key issues and issue drivers identified within the policy and government literature in relation to relevant commentary and scholarly literature. In particular critically examine the core values, beliefs and assumptions underpinning the policy (1,000 words).
Here you need to outline the issues, and issue drivers, that the policy is responding to. You need to research the scholarly literature (including journals) to gain insights into these issues and issue constructions and most importantly the critiques and analyses of the policy by researchers, peak bodies, and other stakeholders.
3. Discuss key findings from evaluation of the policy – including government and non-government evaluations – highlighting strengths and weakness (600 words).

General comments
It is likely that most of you will locate and use a large number and variety of sources – for example, government agency fact sheets and policy statements; media releases; scholarly journal articles and books; reports and evaluation from research groups/centres, and so on. I would expect your reference list to number between 20 – 30 sources however, some sources like fact sheets will be very brief often only a page long.
You must include quality scholarly sources, for example, refereed journal articles and books, typically 6 – 10 sources.

Topic: Final report

Summary: Your final project — your report — is based on your proposal. Because of this, and because this course is required for future teachers, engineers, scientists, and others, each of your reports will be unique. While the specific formats and subjects may vary, all successful projects must be complete, coherent, accurate, well organized, relatively error free, and well formatted.

The length of the BODY of the report should be 8 to 12 pages single spaced. This is a suggested number of pages; fewer pages is not acceptable, but if your work is longer, that is fine. [Note: Front matter is not included in the length requirement for the body of the report. Back matter is no included in the length request unless: 1. It is substantial work, such as lengthy appendix, and 2. You created it.]

Your final project must contain the following:

Letter of Transmittal (this is not the same letter you wrote for your proposal, though the basic format is the same). Do not include it in your Table of Contents.

Front matter:
1.Title page
2.Abstract (on separate page, single spaced). Each term I get last minute emails from students asking what an abstract is. It\’s a kind of summary, but examples are easy to find online, or in journals.
3.Table of Contents with page numbers
4.List of illustrations or figures.

Body: The report proper. This should reflect the book\’s suggestions for formatting and style, and should include graphics that add substance to the paper and don\’t just add space.

Back Matter:
1.Glossary (if needed)
2.Appendix (if needed)

Work Cited Page (MLA format) Do not put it in an appendix.

Most of the above sections of the report are discussed and explained in the book; refer to it for how to do each of these, but email me with any questions you may have.

Your final report should have the appearance of a professional document; part of the grade will be assessed on its appearance. Also, all information that comes from a source, whether is summarized, paraphrased, or quoted, must be cited within the text using MLA citations. There is a link on Blackboard to the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) that shows you how to do that. The book also contains a section on MLA formatting.

Length: The letter of transmittal is one to two pages, the body of the report is eight to twelve pages, and the front and back matter vary but usually add about another six to eight pages.

Format: Again, follow the format discussed in the book for formal reports, and use the example in the book and the one available through the Assignments page as guides. The front and back matter each have their own format, which is also explained in the book. The body of the report should be single-spaced, with one-inch margins. As noted earlier in the term, page lengths are based on Times New Roman 12 point font or on 11 point font for any other font you choose (most fonts are naturally bigger than Times New Roman and are simply too big in 12 point font).
