The Constitution in Your Community

This is the scenario:

The Constitution in Your Community Assume that you are working as a paralegal in a local prosecutors office. You have been asked to work on a criminal case, where three defendants have been charged with disorderly conduct based on their behavior during a local football game. It seems that the three defendants got agitated after their team lost the game in double overtime.
Afterward, the defendants began shouting various barbs at passers-by. The first defendant yelled You guys suck! to members of the opposing team as they went into the locker room. The second defendant screamed Your team is a bunch of inbred hicks who want to marry their sisters to a group of opposing-team parents leaving the stadium. And the third defendant, shouted Hey, you dumb cop, why dont you go back to the donut shop where you belong? to an officer who was arresting the first two defendants. Each of the defendants maintains that his speech after the game was protected under the First Amendment. Locate the disorderly conduct statute for your local jurisdiction or state. Then prepare a memorandum analyzing whether your prosecutors office should proceed with criminal charges against each of the three defendants or whether some or all of the charges should be dropped based on constitutional protections under the First Amendment

Criminal Justice Program Proposal, Part IV

Write a 1250 to 1500 word case study on Rural Law Enforcement Combating Crime. word proposal focusing on program implementation that includes the following:
Identify sources of funding for your program.
Determine the criteria that will be used to evaluate the success of your program.
Determine the data collection methods that will be used to determine the success of your program.
Describe the way to collect and respond to feedback and implementation concerns.
Make sure that you cite the sources and include page numbers

Chemical Formulas

The lab experiment is attached. The purpose, procedure and results are attached as a data sheet (handwriting). The questions underneath the document (lab experiment document) should be answered in the lab report under (questions answered). The template should be used. (provided)

In the results section, the problem steps that need to be completed in order to obtain the chemical formula of the element mentioned should be done in the results section. Table would be needed here to highlight some important data.
The discussion should have some observations etc.

The Data part of the lab report is this handwritten sheet. So the only part where the results should be mentioned is the results section, with some tables of the important data points for further calculation and determination of the chemical formula. The observation notes should be written (not as it\\\”s written on the handwritten paper). The questions that need to be answered are underneath the chemical formulas lab experiment guide document.

How does the repertoire you\’ve chosen relate to issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, or other definers of identity?

After either attending a live concert or watching a full length concert online, write a critique of the performance following the format below.
Here are a few examples of full length concerts you can find online (by conducting a web search using the criteria below) that could be used for this assignment:
Coldplay Live In Boston 2012 (Full Concert DVD) Sting: If on a winters night-Live from Durham Cathedral 2009 (watch all 14 songs on concert) Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Ron Wood, Bill Wyman, Jan Hammer, Charlie Duke Ellington The Great Paris Concert Richard Galliano/Winton Marsalis – Billie Holiday meets Edith PIAF Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Jazz Center Orchestra @ The BBC Proms 2004 Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson, Amazing stuff! Loretta Lynn — You\’re Looking At Country – Legends In Concert
You may choose a different concert video to watch, but be sure you include the URL of the concert you chose in your critique, or scan the program of the live concert you attended and attach it. The musical style of the concert should include at least one of the genres studied in this course. Country, Jazz, Rock and roll, hip hop, popular music, etc.
The Concert Critique should be 2.5 pages long, double spaced. It should contain five paragraphs that describe the following aspects of the concert you attended:
1. Who are the performers? Give the title of the concert and write something about the performers. Is it an orchestra? A choir? An ensemble? Solo artists? Why did you choose to attend this particular performance? Tell as much as you know about the musicians that performed are they professionals? Students? Teachers? How long have they been performing? Etc. 2. Describe the music that was performed on the concert. Use the musical characteristics that we have been learning in class. What genre is the music (opera aria? Jazz song? Standard tune? Solo instrument piece? Symphony?) 3. What style period was the music written in? What was the tempo, dynamics, texture, etc.? Sometimes the music in a concert will be only one genre. Sometimes there will be several genres performed. Attach the program to your critique, and then refer to the titles in the program. For example: Autumn Leaves was performed by a small instrumental ensemble (guitar, bass, and percussion). It is a standard contemporary tune. The tempo was a moderately slow ballad. It had a very mellow sound 4. Tell how well you think the performers interpreted the music that was on the concert. Were the singers in tune? Did the piano player play musically and rhythmically? Do you think the performers communicated the music as it was meant to be communicated by the composer? 5. Tell which pieces or part of the concert was most moving or enjoyable for you. If you didnt enjoy the concert very much, tell why you didnt enjoy it. What could have been better? Be as specific as you can when expressing your opinion of the performance dont just write generalities like It was nice or it made me feel like dancing. Tell why the music made you feel like dancing. Write about why you particularly enjoyed that part of the concert. 6. Conclude your critique by summing up the performance and telling us if you would go to hear these performers again or would invite your friends or family to hear this performance/performers.

How does the repertoire you\’ve chosen relate to issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, or other definers of identity? Bear in mind that while lyrics and performance are important, you must address musical issues as well.

Describe the initiation of the OT process at your site including referral, screening and initial assessment.

1.Describe the initiation of the OT process at your site including referral, screening and initial assessment. Describe the caseload, for example population served and number of clients treated on OT caseload per day/week. Include any pertinent job functions of the occupational therapist outside of treating their case load.( 3 paragraphs)

The initiation of the OT process at Independent assisted Living (IALs), memory care facility, and IAL for nuns starts with referral patient by the MD. Also OT participated in the each facility meeting ones a week where managers, director go over progress or regress of each patient and OT can focus if somebody need help too, then usually she give patient information to her assistant, who is getting more information from the doctor. Most of the patients in these facilities come from home.
During the initial evaluation the OT assess through DaSH, Barthex, SPADI and use depended on the pt independency of ADLs and IADLs, also assess ROM and strength, muscle tone, MMT. The OT does not use a cognitive assessment; she thinks that is inappropriate to use it, because in pt history tells that she/he has dementia, or cognitive impairment. All of the ADLs are rated on the FOM scale. OT uses Wedoc documented program.
Mostly of the patients have shoulder injury and urinary incontinence. Usually OT works with 2-3 units twice a week for each patient. IAL facility has 9 caseload, the memory community has 2 caseloads and nuns community have 5 caseloads. Overall OT has 8 caseloads per day.
The population is about 65 and + years old, they joke that some of them just older, then elder, then elderly elderly 90+. At the nuns community are only elder women.
OT who I work with is responsible for educating patients about supply and adaptive equipment and assists them with any help. Some previous patients, who were discharge long time ago, sometimes visit her and ask for advice or help with installing in the right place grab bar or change the walker length. She does massage with bio freeze for patients or coworker who has neck or shoulder pain. Also last week was a wellness week, where each facility has a one-hour spa treatment. OT was the leader of that idea and participated as well. Also she buys from her own pocket bio freeze or hot cold pack, for patient who is going to travel.

Sister Wives1

\”Sister Wives\” is a reality show which debuted on The Learning Channel in 2010. It is about a polygamous family, the Browns, who live in Utah. The Browns are now being investigated by the Utah Attorney Generals Office for committing a felony (polygamy is a felony in most states, including Utah).

This block\’s activity has three parts:

1. Watch the NBC \”Today\” show\’s segment on the Brown family and the investigation at http://www.today.com/id/39418047/ns/today-today_entertainment/t/sister-wives-family-investigated-bigamy/#.VV_tKE9Viko.

If you prefer, a transcript of the clip can be found at the same link. Simply scroll past the video to the bottom half of the screen.

2. Decide which of the three theoretical paradigms (functionalism, conflict, or symbolic interactionism) best explains the situation in Utah.

3. Explain to me why you chose that particular paradigm. If you choose the functionalist perspective, be sure to address the purpose of the event. If you choose the conflict perspective, be sure to identify the conflicting groups and the resource over which they are fighting. If you choose the symbolic interactionist perspective, identify some of the symbols used in the event and explain what those symbols represent.

Once an assignment has been submitted to me, it can not be retrieved and changed (even though the screen says \”edit my submission\”). Make sure that the answer is in final form before submitting. My recommendation is that you work on the answer in your word processor. When you have finished and are ready to submit it, see directions under \”How To\” in first block. Be sure to follow all 8 steps.

Any topic (writer\’s choice)

Response to the paragraph with own opinion The initiation of the OT process at Psychiatric Hospital happens when patients come in the Emergency Room. Most of the time we do not have beds open (25 beds on the unit) right away so patients are placed in a Psych Emergency Room area. They are placed there so they have supervision. Many on of the patients come to hospital involuntary. Many patients either come in because a neighbor or family member called 911. Most of the time it is due to psychosis, attempted suicide, or a manic outburst. If the patients were not brought into the ER with police charges they usually sign a voluntary commitment form to be transferred to the Psychiatric Hospital. There are sometimes where patients refuse to sign the form and are involuntary and there has to be a court hearing, to mandate the stay.
Since the hospital is connected the OT can accesses all of the hospital notes such as the technicians, nurses, doctors, etc. The evaluation process usually starts with a general doctor then either a Psychiatrist or an APRN that specializes in psychology when first admitted to the ER. Once they are placed on a Psychiatric unit the Social worker does the initial evaluation followed by one of the three units psychiatrist. After that, the OT does her evaluation. During the OT evaluation depending on the patients ability basic questions are addressed like can they take care of themselves, where do they live, do they know why they are here, etc. Many time patients are not able to respond, can respond a little or, talk without answering the questions. If needed evaluation notes can be filled out using the other teams input in the beginning and can be readdressed in progress notes, which happens weekly.
The unit is the older adult population, 50+, acute care. The OT evaluates all of the patients. After evaluating the patients they are placed into group 1, 2,or 3. If a patient is confined to their bed, highly liable, or experiencing an extreme episode of depression or mania they are 1:1. The OTs groups are at 11 am and 2 pm. Patients are not forced to go but most attend the group they are scheduled to go to. If they do not go at all that week the OT will then do at least one 1:1 session. The rest of the time is used to do evaluations, 1:1 sessions, progress notes, and team meetings.
The OT also does follow up D/C phone calls, order activity/leisure supplies, complete educational packets for patients, attend rounds, order durable equipment/ adaptive equipment. The OT also uses the ACL and KELS in order to assess the patient but not during the initial evaluation. Also, any time a patient needs something or assistance the OT will help.
Patients usually stay 1 -2 weeks but some patients stay longer. Patient duration depends on several things such as how well they are progressing, insurance, and if the social worker is able to set up appropriate outpatient care that is individualistic to each client.
