Each week of this course highlights the importance of involving clients in their own case management processes. The above quote by Carl Rogers further explains just why client involvement is so crucial. As clients work to assess personal needs and wants, they can also help to identify the ways in which their communities fail to provide them with necessary opportunities for growth. Once these types of resource “gaps” are identified, case managers can begin to advocate for new opportunities. Case managers can enlist knowledgeable and well-connected people within the community to create opportunities for clients in need. Imagine, for example, that a client is new to using food stamps. A case manager might choose to contact a local grocery store to set up times before or after store hours to educate the client on how to find the best deals and to help the client feel comfortable with using food stamps to pay for purchases. Slowly building client confidence and relationships with grocery store employees will help to further empower the client during shopping trips.

Resources that are created change according to the specific needs and wants of each client. This week, you assess the resource gaps that might be present in your community.
You also propose additional resources needed to address your virtual clients’ needs.

To Prepare for this Assignment:

Review the article, “The Role of Social Network and Support in Mental Health Service Use: Findings From the Baltimore ECA Study.” Consider the implications of social support networks for individuals’ use of mental and medical health services.

Review the article, “Online Support for Caregivers of People With a Mental Illness.” Focus on the finding about effects of participation in the self-help group.

Review the research you conducted during Week 4, in which you located resources and agencies in your community to find assistance for your clients.
Review the media titled Creating Resources.
Consider the strengths and weaknesses of your community’s offerings for your clients.

Think about how you might assist your clients by creating or empowering them to create resources to benefit themselves and others who might encounter similar challenges.

**********The Assignment (1–2 pages)

Describe three resources that are missing or inadequate in your community to meet your virtual clients’ needs.

Propose three types of resources to address your virtual clients’ needs.

****Please use required resources and please reference the clients when possible.

Thank you for all of your knowledge and hard work.

Topic: Homophobia, Lesbian, essay questions?

Answer the two following questions in essay form. Each answer should be ~400 words in length total of ~800 words 400 for each question. You should refer only to the enclosed readings in answering the questions and indicate page numbers in parentheses for any direct citations. You are not required to submit a list of works cited.
1) On p.169 of his article “From Homophobia and Heterosexism to Heteronormativity”, Gust Yep articulates the effects of what he calls “soul murder” and “internalized homophobia”. Compare and contrast Yep’s description of the micro-level effects of heteronormativity with Jeffrey Week’s definition of social constructivism on p.22 of his interview called “The Social Construction of Sexuality”. What does each author say about the notions of agency and choice in the development of an individual’s sexual identity?
2) Consider the article “One is Not Born a Woman” by Monique Wittig alongside Adrienne Rich’s article “Compulsory Heterosexuality and Lesbian Existence”. Both authors offer arguments in favor of a political understanding of lesbian identity, and suggest that lesbianism is a liberatory practice for women. Despite these common threads, the two authors differ in their understandings of the categories of gender. Compare and contrast each author’s perspective, using examples from the texts to support your response.

QI Assignment 3. A3 Report

Instructions: An A3 Report is a summary document designed to help you \”tell the story\” of your Lean quality improvement initiative in a logical and visual way to use as a road map for continuous improvement. Read the following approaches and examples of how to complete an A3 report:

Appendix A \”Kaizen A3 Report\” pages 212 – 213 from Executing Lean Improvements

Also see the Blank Template and Instructions on the CD-ROM in the Delisle textbook!

The A3 Templates from the Healthcare Kaizen webpage https://www.hckaizen.com/downloads/templates/

The sample A3 Report on this webpage: https://www.okyanusbilgiambari.com/bilgiambari/Yalin/Okyanus.iyilestirme/LeanHealthcareA3.pdf

In addition, several other examples and A3 templates (Word and PPT) are attached.

Detailed Instructions

The A3 is basically a way to summarize the work you have done in this class in a single (albeit LARGE) page. The A3 combines your initial VSM analysis with the PDSA and control charts (or other Dashboard graphics if you choose to develop them) and next steps. The example on page 213 in Delisle is nice, make sure to look at the template and instructions in the CD-ROM in Delisle.

The purpose of an A3 is to summarize a major Lean quality improvement project on one page. This can be used for review and update by a QI leader, by the clinical or management BHC, by a team (PCP, nurse, administrative) or senior leadership to evaluate all aspects of an entire project.

Complete your A3 as if you actually have a project in progress. I recommend you use the same projects from your VSM and PDSA/Control Chart assignments. Summarize the same results you highlighted in your Control Chart and PDSA, but focus on concise writing to present the most essential information in a clear fashion that will communicate to the reader the current status of the project and what steps are needed next for continued improvements.

Most of the templates use a PDSA in the first and second columns (e.g, Delisle template headings are: Background, Problem Statement, Project/proposal objective, Team member, Countermeasures and results. Add the future state VSM (the ideal state you are trying to achive) in columns 2-3. Add your control chart in column 3.

Enterprise Dashboard. You should also choose to create a bar chart, line graph, pie chart or other grapic for your A3 or in addition to using only your control chart. Review the readings for Enterprise Dashboard this week, and use Powerpoint, Excel or other software to create a basic graphic that repesents an aspect of your project.

Please post questions to Hallway Conversations.

Topic: Arbitration Law

1. All propositions referred to in the coursework paper must be supported by an appropriate reference to a case, statute, book, article or another authority.

2. The maximum overall word limit is 4,500 words. You are allowed to deviate from this up to the maximum of +/-10% of the specified word count. Otherwise the limits must be adhered to. Each submission must include a word count. Words in title page and bibliography are not included in the word count.

3. The coursework assignment consists of two components: the legal problem question and the essay topic.
There is a guideline word count assigned to each of the components: 3,500 words to the legal problem question and 1,000 words to the essay topic. These word count guidelines are approximate and you may, to some extent, deviate from them, as long as the overall word limit for both questions (4,500 words) is adhered to. If there is a substantive connection between the two questions, there is no need to repeat the same analysis/ideas twice; students are allowed to refer to other parts of their coursework where necessary.

4. OSCOLA standard of citation must be followed throughout the coursework – a separate guideline for OSCOLA has been attached separately. Footnotes must be included in the coursework. A bibliography must appear at the end of the coursework; there should be only one bibliography for the whole coursework.

5. The bibliography must contain all relevant material consulted by the writer, and material in the bibliography should be arranged under the following headings:
– Case Law
– Legislation
– Books
– Articles
– Internet resources
– Other resources

6. Footnotes must be used for referencing and further reading only and should contain as little text as possible.

7. Failure to submit the completed coursework assignment properly or will result in the student’s scoring zero for the assignment.

8. Any deviation from the above guidelines will be penalised, either by a zero score or a lower mark.

9. Two important preliminary steps in writer’s analysis would include the following:
a) Identification of juridical seat of arbitration, in light of the applicable law, applicable arbitration rules as well as case law
b) Identification of the relevant arbitral institute

10. Expressions should be based on facts, not conjectures.

11. Given the international nature of this arbitration, some consideration of subsequent enforcement will be appropriate.

12. Credit is given for in-depth research, clear evaluation and critique of the issues relevant to the assignment.
