What strategies is the store using to get you to buy it? Can you tell where it is from? Are their multiple ways to buy it? (organic? frozen? canned? processed?) Why might you choose one form over another? Why might you choose this specific food over something similar (i.e. peas instead of beans)?

Food: Following the model of The Omnivores Dilemma, this assignment asks to you think back through the food chain. Choose a specific food item (one specific thing you have eaten such as a turkey leg or a slice of pizza or an avacado) and write about it from personal, cultural, environmental, and economic perspectives. The ultimate goal here is to write about what less evident choices you are making when you buy/eat this food. Some things you may touch on are how and where and by whom it is produced; how it has come to take the shape you find it in; its broader cultural significance (literature? song?); how it got to you; its history; how this food connects your own life to the lives of others. Remember Pollans comment that eating is an agricultural act, an environmental act, and a political actI would add to those that it is also a cultural act. Some specific requirements of the assignment: 1. first hand research: you must go to the store, farm, or whereever and actually find the food. Note how it is displayed, packaged, located. What strategies is the store using to get you to buy it? Can you tell where it is from? Are their multiple ways to buy it? (organic? frozen? canned? processed?) Why might you choose one form over another? Why might you choose this specific food over something similar (i.e. peas instead of beans)? 2. You must also do some second hand research and support your discussion with at least four sources; no more than two of these may be web sites. No more than one may be a commercial web site. Personal interviews are an acceptable source.
Some things that must appear in your essay:
–personal experience: this may include past experiences with the food; it also may include an account of your experience shopping for it; it should definitely include sensory experience.
–some thoughts about the cultural identity of the food: is it associated with a particular group or part of the country? a holiday? an activity? a historical event?
–environmental impact of your choice; not only how and where it is grown but think about transportation and processing
–a clear organizational plan!
–some interesting information!
–lively writing!

Using the Program Objectives as the outline, beginning with Program Objective 1: Identify the objective, considering the reason for having the objective within the framework of the nursing program. Using the Program Objectives as the outline, beginning with Program Objective 1: Identify the objective, considering the reason for having the objective within the framework of the nursing program. Do not use the objective as a heading; rather integrate the program objective into your narrative.Use scholarly literature (theoretical and evidence-based journal articles) with appropriate citations to substantiate points made in your discussion of the objective. Why is this objective important to the School of Nursing curriculum? For instance, objective one is to use the UCF School of Nursing conceptual framework as a basis for professional nursing practice. Ask yourself: why is it important to use a conceptual framework as a basis for professional nursing practice? Then find literature to support why it is important, and use that as your scholarly literature. For objective one, you will not be discussing the conceptual framework, but rather why using a conceptual framework is important.
Scholarly literature is NOT a substantiation of assignments completed in the program. It demonstrates the importance or reason for incorporating the objective into the curriculum.
Discuss which of the AACN Essentials of Bacalaureate Education are met by this objective.
Use exemplars from your papers, logs, care plans, BB Discussion Boards, clinical experiences, etc. to provide the evidence that you have accomplished each of the Program Objectives.
* Explain your movement toward mastery of this objective throughout your course of study from your first semester on.
* Identify what you will need to do to continue to work on mastery of the objective.

Program Objectives: At the completion of the University of North Floridas baccalaureate program in nursing, the graduate will:

1. Use the UNF School of Nursing conceptual framework as a basis for professional nursing practice.
2. Synthesize knowledge from nursing, the natural and social sciences, mathematics and the humanities as the basis for providing culturally competent care within a diverse society.

There are many schools of criticism, which means there are many ways to interpret a paper. For
this next paper, which is a literary analysis, Id like you to choose one school of criticism.
Sociological criticism
: Examines literature in the cultural, economic, and political context in
which it is written or received. This type of criticism may analyze the social content of a literary
workthe cultural, economic, or political values a particular text implicitly or explicitly
expresses.
Reader-response criticism:
This type of criticism attempts to describe what happens in the
readers mind while interpreting a text. A reader-response critic might also explore the impact of
a particular text on his or her own ideas or values. For example, one might reflect on how a
particular character seems admirable or unlikable and why. One might reflect on how ones
religious, culture, or social values affect readings. It also overlaps with gender criticism in
exploring how men and women may read the same text with different assumptions.
Gender criticism:
This type of criticism examines how sexual identity influences the creation
and reception of literary works. Gender studies originated during the feminist movement, when
critics began investigating the unexamined assumptions around gender in a piece of literature.
Feminist critics explored how an authors gender mightconsciously or unconsciouslyaffect
his or her writing. These critics may also explore how images of men or women in literature
might reflect or reject the social norms around gender in a particular society
