Describe a nonverbal communication technique that you will use to persuade your co-owner that your proposal is a win-win proposition.
Describe a threat you can make that would force your co-owner to make concessions.

Environmental Issues

Should select a community with a population of between 75,000 and 100,000 people.  Look up the community and develop an understanding of the community using internet resources such as www.city-data.com, or www.info.com or US Census, for city demographics.  Select three aspects of the community, such as transportation, energy/power, water, food, commerce/business, education, housing, government, construction/building codes, health care and elder care, land use, environmental protection, or public safety that you want to focus on.  For each area identified for sustainable improvement, state a goal to be achieved and develop a plan for moving the current conditions of the community from unsustainable to sustainable.  This means making changes that will accomplish such goals as GHG emission reductions, becoming self-sufficient in food production, reducing use of private vehicles, energy self-sufficient, reductions in water use, changing land use policies such as zoning, open space preservation, etc. , clean-up contaminated sites, promote organic gardening or community gardening, installing renewable energy systems, etc. Prepare a report that describes the community as it is today, with maps, tables, etc. characterizing the community.  Include in the report, the program with goals, schedules, quantitative indicators to measure change, and specific actions that will be needed to make the community sustainable by 2030

1.    Why might it be important to have students explain their thinking behind their work even if their answers are correct? Why is it important to write down student comments?

2.    Discuss the disadvantages of rote learning for students with mathematics disabilities.

3.    This week you are creating a PERSONALIZED diagnostic assessment for your student.  Write about your feelings and experiences with this task, your belief of the importance of it, etc.

4.    Why have problem-solving skills become the focus of instruction and statewide testing?  How can technology enhance instruction?

5.    Why might you use literature with math instruction?  What other resources are available for planning and teaching mathematics?

6.    Discuss anything you would like to about this coursework from this class from the above questions

specifically delineate at least 2 (but possibly more) types/ideas of tradition in architecture, discuss how they are different or opposite

Students are required to engage with the notion of ‘tradition’ in architecture, and to specifically delineate at least 2 (but possibly more) types/ideas of tradition in

architecture. These 2 or more types of tradition – which could also be called: threads, families, lineages etc. of traditions – must be discussed and supported through

a personal argument that indeed defines the specific characters and qualities of each type. Architectural works from the 20th

discussed, as belonging to these 2 or more types of tradition.

Students are required to:

– Frame an argument that supports and explains personal theoretical ideas of tradition types/lineages/families/threads (that is: what are the characters of these 2 or more

different types of tradition? What is that makes a group/lineage of work be part of the same tradition? Are these 2 or more types of tradition opposite or just different? Why

and how? Or, perhaps, do they share some degrees of empathy, despite being different? How do you support your ideas of tradition types/lineages/families/threads?

Which philosophical/theoretical references support your argument? etc.).

+

– Further consolidate your 2 or more ideas of tradition by relating to these some architectural works by different architects from the 20th

are required to group and discuss works from different architects that nonetheless may be sharing some commonalities, and therefore could be considered parts of the

same tradition, according indeed to the argument that is put forward in order to define and support these 2 or more types/ideas of tradition.

+

Describe how and why these works and/or thoughts can be attributed to the 2 or more types/ideas of tradition that are put forward.

To support their argument and the theoretical reasons that inform their personal argument and the 2 or more types/ideas of architectural tradition, students are required

to illustrate their research through drawings specifically produced for the essay (sketches, diagrams, re-elaboration of original drawings/images, etc.) as well as, when

possible, personal photographs. In addition to these, students are of course also required to use images and general illustrative material from archive and bibliographic

Counterintelligence Approach

Compare the United State’s approach to counterintelligence with that of either the UK, Russia, or China (pick one).  How do they differ from a philosophical, policy, legal, and organizational perspective?

Note that while there are many sources addressing the intelligence threat posed by these nations, the sources that authoritatively deal with their counterintelligence approaches are scarce in some cases. Also, please use up-to-date sources.  Ensure you use current National CI Strategies and the latest version of E.O. 12333.  Also, in Case Study #3, the sources used to set out the organization and structure of CI services need to be current.  These organizations change as ours do.  You cannot use just any source that comes up in an Internet search. Read the assignment instructions carefully.  Ensure that you identify what you are responsible to address and do so. Then, in the outline stage, and in each draft, confirm you have responded to those questions and have not edited out any critical elements.

Computer science

Use photography to enhance your stories. Use lighting, composition, depth, color, and subject to bring news events, products, places, scientific breakthroughs, interesting people or events into vivid focus.
STUDY (cite your sources):

Explain how the following elements and terms affect the quality of a picture:
○    Light—natural light/ambient, flash.
○    Exposure—aperture (fstops), shutter speed, depth of field.
○    Composition—rule of thirds, leading lines, framing, depth.
○    Angle of view.
○    Stopping action.

Explain the basic parts and operation of a digital SLR camera.
Explain how the image is recorded when you take a picture.
Explain how the image information is stored and retrieved
Describe how image editing software allows you to make adjustments, enhancements, additions, or subtractions to digital photograph after it is taken.
○    How should these abilities affect a person’s level of trust in the media?

being a responsible consumer

Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources and Energy

We can all help protect the environment by becoming responsible consumers and supporting businesses that follow environmentally friendly policies. If you watch TV, you may notice an increase in television commercials that emphasize environmentally conscious decisions by manufacturers in terms of “going green.” New government policies are also starting to mandate more environmentally conscious practices such as reducing car emissions, creating and incorporating products that promote energy conservation, and investing in renewable energy sources to reduce consumption of fossil fuels.
In this Assignment, you will consider what your role is and can be in becoming a responsible consumer to help support the environment and the sustainability of future generations.
Questions about this assignment? Post them in the Ask the Instructor area under Course Home. That way, everyone in the class will see, and benefit from, the Instructor’s response.
To prepare for this Assignment:
•    Use your favorite search engine to research three websites that deal with environmentally friendly and ethical businesses.
•    On these sites, determine what businesses on a local, national, or international level you already know of or recognize that follow environmentally friendly practices, what those practices are, and how they improve the environment.
•    Reflect on how you are already a responsible consumer or how you could become a responsible consumer by supporting these businesses.
The assignment:
Compose a 2- to 3-page paper in includes the following:
•    A list of the environmentally friendly businesses you support with descriptions of what they do specifically to help reduce their impact on the environment
•    A list of at least three changes you can make in your daily routine to become a more responsible consumer. How easy or difficult might it be to make these changes? What impact would your changes make on the environment or on society?
•    Based on all you have studied over the past 7 weeks, a description of two or three of the most important aspects of environmental biology that may impact you. How do these aspects affect you? Do you think you will change any of your current routines as a result of what you have learned?
