Major Research Argument
pick an issue involving a current controversial issue. The goal is to write an essay that persuades readers to accept my position on how to deal with this problem. Develop a thesis-a stance and recommendation regarding the problem. Select a suitable audience-readers who care about the issue but who might not completely agree with the thesis. The bulk of the paper should be devoted to my own arguments supporting my recommendation, so do not let the paper become dominated by other people’s arguments.
are men and women truly equal? should they be treated the same? should they be allowed to do the same kind of jobs as men? should they for example fight in wars and serve as judges? argue your position with evidence.
HYPOTHESIS: Although men and women have lots of differences, they should be treated fairly.
EXPLANATION: Debates on whether men are equal to women seem to be an endless story. Many people think that men and women are not equal due to real, physical difference. The second party thinks that men are capable of certain jobs while women can excel in others. The third party thinks that they are equal in many points while the differences between them are not of any importance.
SUPPORT
Men and women are not equal due to real, physical difference.
1. Men are physically stronger than women.
2. Women have natural features that make them unable to cope with men.
3. Women need to protect themselves from being abused in different ways.
Men are capable of certain jobs while women can excel in others.
1. Men can do jobs that depend on their muscles more than women.
2. Women, being mother, need more efforts to catch up with what men can do.
3. Women can excel in jobs like KG teachers and babysitting.
Men and Women are equal in many points while the differences between them are not of any importance.
1. Both men and women can do the same jobs.
2. The differences between men and women are not of a big deal.
OBJECTIONS (the other side)
1. Laws and some organization practice real sex discrimination between men and women.
2. Some cultural traditions put lots of restrictions against women abilities.
REPLY TO OBJECTIONS:
1. Law reforms should be studied and passed legally to protect women’s rights.
2. Social education can overcome all the wrong beliefs about women’s rights of work.

Human Computers
Technology is advancing rapidly. Everyone has seen remarkable accomplishments, especially in computer technology. Respond to the following questions:
-Do you believe that, one day, computers will be able think like human beings?
-Will they be able to perceive as humans do?
-Will they be able to surpass human abilities in art? In philosophy?
-Will they be able to experience emotions?
HYPOTHESIS: cosmetic surgery should not be banned by law.
- Cosmetic surgery does not make an individual lose their beauty. On the contrary, it enhances beauty. This is why many celebrities use it, in order to improve their look.
- The materials used during the operation are normally tested, before using them on any individual (Khoo, 2009).
- Though the practice is risky for delicate skin, at times it is inevitable. When one has been burnt for instance, they have to undergo cosmetic surgery to improve their condition.
- As long as the practice follows the requirements of the law like use of certified materials and procedure, it does not pose a risk to humans (Kinnunen, 2010).
Art
The fragment of a fluted column was found in the ancient capital of Lybia. it was a part of temple. The column is gigantic and made out of marble that was costly and labor intensive. The size of the column shows that the temple was one of the largest temples in Greece; and the material that was used show us that this temple was important for people. Temples were considered homes of the gods and, thus, the temple was a place to worship the gods and a gathering place. The column represents the Ionic order of architecture. The Ionic order is more graceful than the Doric order. A base that support the column shows us that Column represents The Ionic order because Doric columns did not have bases. The Capital of the column has two volutes and an ornament under it. The abacus is narrow. The column has more vertical flutes than those of the Doric order.
When we think of Greek architecture, white columns are the first things that come to mind. Ionic order is referred to the Classic Greek architecture. The Classic Greek Architecture has been influencing the architecture of the past 2000 years. The ancient Greeks had a huge impact on western civilization. They have made major contributions to the world. To this day we can see many of their practice still exist. For example, we can see a lot of similarities between ancient and modern buildings such as simple rectangle shape, the use of Post and Lintel construction system and ornaments on walls. The principle of symmetry and harmony that has been invented by Greeks still has a lot of use the modern world. Therefore, the Greeks advancement in the field of architecture were not only beneficial to their civilization, but our as well.
Statue of a wonder Amazon is a beautiful sculpture that represents Classical period of Greek art. Like most ancient Greeks statues, the original bronze statue was melted down and marble copies from the Roman period replaced it. We can see the classical Greek pose of contrapposto. One leg bears the weight of the body while the other leg is in a resting position. This weight distribution makes the body balanced and creates S curve shape. This statue represents a refugee from battle who bleeds from wound under her right breast. We can see that her right hand is gracefully on her head to keep the wound open. Her dress is unfastened at one shoulder and belted at the waist. The dress is short that gives her a freedom of movement. Her face shows no sign of pain. Curved curls indicate the bronze original. We can see that upper part of her arm keeps the light away from her wound and gives shade to the half of her face. The statue embodies the perfect proportions of the female body.
Greek sculptures had been used with decorative purposes. They looked organically with columns and other elements of classical architecture because of the simple forms and perfect proportions. Perfect proportions are the key in Greek sculpture because they represent human without distortion. Greek sculpture has had a profound effect throughout the ages. Many of the styles have been reproduced and copied. Many of the styles served as inspirations for the new styles. Greek art and sculpture is base of the Western civilization. The nude human bodies in Greek art represent perfect proportions that create harmony.

Residency Reflection
At this point in your professional development, you have had plenty of time to write about clinical skills and developing client rapport. You have just completed your first residential colloquium, where you had the opportunity to start doing what you have been learning and writing about. Reflect on your Track 1 experience to answer the following questions:
What did you find challenging in regard to establishing a relationship with your clients?
What were your strengths in developing a therapeutic relationship?
What surprised you about the process?
What did you learn about yourself?
Please be specific and use your residency role-playing experiences as examples.
The Relationship between ADD-like Behavior and IQ score
Abstract
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is associated with hyperactivity and loss of attention. Many researchers have established that the disorder may affect learning and social interaction. This study conducted with a sample of 216 individuals reveals that there is a significant negative relationship between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and IQ.
The Relationship between ADD-like Behavior and IQ score
Introduction
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a psychiatric disorder that is characterized by hyperactivity and attention related problems. In most cases, each of the two behaviors occurs independently infrequently, symptoms usually beginning to show before the individual is seven years old. According to a Philip, Gilliam, Liverpool, Weddle, Malek, Sharp, Greenstein, Evans, Rapoport and Giedd (2010), ADHD, also known as Attention deficit disorder (ADD), the condition evidently occurs when the behavior lie at the extreme end of a continuous distribution of cognitive impairments and symptoms and that lie below. A significant number of those having ADHD in childhood are likely to retain the symptoms of the condition in adulthood. Indeed according to Howell, Huessy and Hassuk (1985), those children that exhibited behavior related to ADHD in elementary school risked showing the symptoms in high school and as young adults. In fact most of those with the condition performed poorly in school and had social problems later in life (Howell et al. 1985).
Method
Participants
Participants were 216 students (54% boys, 46% girls) from one of 18 schools in northwestern Vermont. The schools were chosen in such a way to produce a reasonable cross section of rural schools within 40 miles of Burlington, VT. Age at first assessment, family background, racial/ethnic identity and other background variables were not assessed.
Result
The relationship between ADD-like behavior and IQ level among individuals is one that needs to be established if learning institutions have to come up with strategies of managing learning in the school environment. It is in this respect that this study was conducted. The objective of the study was to establish if there is a significant relationship between the existence of ADD-like behavior and IQ score.
