After reading a research article about the way nurses suction clients, you decide to perform a literature search on the topic to see whether other studies reinforce the practice. You identify two other research studies that also support the practice change. Armed with the evidence, you create a new practice guideline that describes the new suctioning techniques and present it to your unit director. After taking the guideline through various committees, it is adopted and a new policy is created. You feel empowered and confident that this new practice will have a positive impact on client care outcomes. During the next few weeks, you are confused and discouraged, noting that the nurses are slow in adopting your fabulous new guideline.

Narrative essay: A narrative essay tells a story about some event or series of events. The narrative essay (1) stresses the importance or significance of the events it relates; (2) includes all the major events in the story (primary support); (3) brings the story to life with details about setting, characters, and actions that make up the major events (secondary support); (4) presents events in a clear order, usually chronological.
The topic I chose to write about is how the Civil Rights movement changed American society.

Trustworthiness:
This section should demonstrate aspects of the study’s validity and reliability. Why should your study be trusted? Check the accuracy of your findings and interpretation by including the following: (a) member checking—asking members to check the accuracy of the account and (b) triangulation—using corroborating evidence.
Potential Research Bias
In this section, describe your own bias of the topic, whether personal or professional. Also, you should explain the plan to manage potential bias.

Ethical Considerations:
This section should describe how you will maintain ethics of the study. Preserve anonymity and keep the documents secure.

Name the steps involved in conducting an analysis of qualitative data. Describe how the data will be organized and transcribed. Discuss the coding procedures of the transcripts or text files. If used, discuss specific qualitative software you will use for your analysis. Develop a detailed qualitative description. Make sure that the approach used for the study is reflective in the language used when describing the analysis. For example, a phenomenological study has specific language when describing the stages of analysis.

Provide some background to the approach and why it is a good strategy for your research. This section should include the following:
1. Identify the specific strategy of inquiry to be used with references 2. Provide some background information about the strategy (e.g., applications of and brief definition for discipline origin).
3. Discuss the intended outcome from this type of strategy.
4. Discuss the source of this strategy.
5. Discuss why it is an appropriate strategy.
6. Identify how the use of this approach will shape the type of questions asked, the form of data collection, and the steps of data analysis.

Prepare: The decades following the War of 1812 are often depicted as an age of nationalism, democratization, egalitarianism, individualism, industrialization, and economic and territorial expansion. All research papers are to present a thorough introduction and comprehensive analysis of the topic/issue, use of specific examples or cases, statistical information (numbers, charts, graphics), utilization of information from the key articles and books on the issue, a fair and balanced evaluation of the topic, original thinking on your part, and business or business­ government policy and decision recommendations. In-text citations, footnotes (where necessary), and a complete listing of references are required. Web-based citations should be used minimally.
