Analyze the Business-Level and Corporate-Level Strategies you think is most important to the long-term success of a firm.

Choose an industry you have not yet written about in this course, and one publicly traded corporation within that industry. Research the company on its own Website, the public filings on the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml), in the University’s online databases, and any other sources you can find. The annual report will often provide insights that can help address some of these questions.
Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:
Analyze the business-level strategies for the corporation you chose to determine the business-level strategy you think is most important to the long-term success of the firm and whether or not you judge this to be a good choice. Justify your opinion.

Write a research on interdisciplinary about Disciplinary Spectrum.

Interdisciplinary Research – Discipline Map
OBJECTIVE A:
Disciplinary Spectrum: I major in Communication Studies as my preliminary discipline. Communication Studies is an essential subject that is applicable in various fields of study such as the humanities and social sciences among others. Communication Studies deals with how individuals generate meaning through messages in different media channels, cultures, and contexts. Communication Studies helps in promoting ethical and effective practices in human interactions.
Phenomena: Communication Studies involves a wide variety of study areas ranging from Applied Communication and Education to Visual Communication and Theatre and Drama. The typical “situation” or “event” observed under Communication Studies and considered for this investigation is Interpersonal Communication. Interpersonal Communication refers to the processes through which information, meanings, and feelings are shared between individuals through non-verbal and verbal means. Employees must develop effective interpersonal communication skills to avoid getting into conflicts with their colleagues. Such skills are crucial in preventing and addressing conflicts between co-workers. A recent example of an incidence highlighting the need for good interpersonal communication skills is the recent sacking of Jeremy Clarkson from BBC. Clarkson is a renowned presenter of the “Top Gear” program and had been hosting it for more than two decades. BBC dismissed Clarkson and refused to renew his contract for attacking and insulting Oisin Tymon – the producer of Top Gear. Apparently, Clarkson was disappointed about the lack of warm food and he directed his anger on Tymon. Witnesses of the incident note that Clarkson physically attacked Tymon and verbally abused him using threats and strong expletives. Although Clarkson was a gifted presenter who made Top Gear a favorite show, has been accused of using foul language or gestures during his show. BBC producers and editors have defended Clarkson over his conduct but finally decided to release him after he physically and verbally attacked his producer.
Perspective: Interpersonal Communication is crucial during the interactions between individuals since it enables people of various backgrounds to share information and meanings. Different cultures have different interpretations of both verbal and non-verbal communications, and it is necessary for communicators to ensure that their audiences receive the intended meanings. Such understanding helps in preventing conflicts between individuals.
Assumptions: Communication Studies’ value proposition is that it helps people from different background to interact and avoid misunderstandings. Communication Studies acknowledge the differences between cultures as well as how different people interpret verbal and non-verbal gestures.
Concepts: The majors in Communication Studies include strategies, self-disclosure, and reverse pattern. Strategies in communication studies refer to the methods used by individuals to approach others or learn about them. Self-disclosure enables people interacting to understand and trust each other. Reverse pattern explains how interpersonal relationships breakdown.
Theories: There are several methods considered in Communication Studies. However, the Cognitive Dissonance theory suggests that people become uncomfortable in situations that are in conflict with their beliefs, behaviors, or attitudes. The theory is relevant to interpersonal communication studies where it argues that communication breakdown occurs when people do not want to hear things that contradict their opinions or expectations.
Methods: Both qualitative and quantitative methods involving surveys, research in journals, and interviews with people are used to collected data in Communication Studies
Epistemology: Communication Studies include the study of anthropology, human behavior, rhetoric, and persuasion to offer proof or evidence.
