“The things they carried” is very descriptive when addressing the horror of war; however, it is not always recognized as an anti-war novel. In a well-developed 3 page paper, evaluate “the the things they carried” and all quiet on the “western front as anti-war propaganda.”
Identify the three common images or scenes addressed by each author and compare how each uses tone, diction, dialogue, and setting to portray a specific judgment about war. Explain how this rhetoric contributes to the theme of each work; specifically, do the works have an effective anti-war message, or do other themes dominate the message of the work? Use at least 2 quotes from each text.

Social Psychology: Bringing It All Together

According to Feenstra (2013):
“Social psychologists investigate how people view themselves and others, how they interact with and influence others, and how people act when part of a group. Given the amount of time spent thinking about and interacting with other people, it follows that much of our lives are spent with the subject matter of social psychology.”(p.xix)

This paper will provide them with an overview of the field, and explain the key principles associated with its practice.

Include the following components in your research paper:

1. Discovering the Self – How do we perceive ourselves and our interactions with others?
a. Self-concept, awareness, and self-schemas

Competency 1007.1.2: Logic and Validity – The graduate evaluates arguments, demonstrating validity through application of formal logic and methods.
Competency 1007.1.3: Logic and Critical Thinking – The graduate evaluates sophisticated types of reasoning through the concepts and methods of logic and critical thinking.

Introduction:

For this task, you will use the tools of critical thinking you have learned in this course. You will choose one of the three passages from the attachment below and then discuss your findings. The arguments contained in the given passages are intended to be treated as complex, either as containing inferences, or as involving convergent arguments, or both.

Requirements:

Identify your chosen passage and complete the following:

A. Create an argument diagram that clearly and completely denotes the inferential relations among the various parts of the argument in the chosen passage.

B. Provide a critical analysis of the chosen passage by doing the following:

1.the chosen passage.
2. Discuss any tacit statements used in the reasoning of the chosen passage.
3. Discuss the acceptability of the assumptions in the chosen passage.
4. Discuss the quality of the reasoning used to arrive at the conclusion from the assumptions in the chosen passage.
a. Explain any named fallacies that the chosen passage commits.
b. Discuss any validity of the deductive arguments used in the chosen passage.
