This article focuses on the fact that the concept of adolescent fatherhood is not well researched on. Worse still, there are very few intervention programs that aim to understand and address the needs of adolescent fathers. Majority of these programs focus predominantly on the plight of young mothers. This has resulted in a myriad of problems including the increase in teenage men who abandon their responsibilities as fathers. The authors provide the demographics of teenage fatherhood for different countries for a number of years so that the readers can get a clear picture of how the trend is changing. They also address the issue of gender inequality when it comes to assessing and providing for the needs of teenage fathers.

As you learned in this week’s readings, many constitutional scholars consider the prohibition of unreasonable searches and seizures as one of the most basic freedoms that the Bill of Rights clearly protects. This central freedom supports and protects other essential freedoms, like free speech, press, assembly, and religion. Recently, this core freedom has become a very controversial debate topic as large American cities, like New York City, have instituted police procedures described as “stop and frisk.” In these cities, when a police officer has reason to believe that a person is armed there is a set protocol for officers. Officers can make stops based on suspicious activities and frisk individuals for weapons. Courts have found this to be within the boundaries of the Fourth Amendment until just recently. At what point does a reasonable search become unreasonable? What is the role of probable cause in these efforts to provide safety to our citizens? When, during this process, could the police officer infringe on individual rights? Discuss why you support or do not support stop and frisk efforts by the police.

When examining the historical context of treatment in a correctional setting, it must be seen through both domestic and international viewpoints. Under the domestic view, the United States primarily uses a custodial model, which focuses on using incapacitation as the method of retribution and deterrence.

In contrast, the international view, specifically Europe, uses the rehabilitation model. This model focuses on rehabilitating the person to become a productive member of society.

In this assignment, compare and contrast the models of corrections from the perspectives of the United States and the United Kingdom. In this paper, explain which model you think provides the best treatment.

Comprehensive Training Plan

You have been advised by the warden that the agency is going to seek national accreditation by the ACA and that he has designated you as the accreditation manager. One of the areas that will be looked at is internal policies dealing with officer misconduct. There have been several incidents in the past in which officers have either been disciplined or fired for conduct that violated the rules and regulations of the agency.

He has tasked you with the responsibility of coming up with a comprehensive training plan that would address ethical and moral issues officers face in the performance of their duties. He also wants you to explore the possibility of instituting a civilian review board to investigate inmate complaints against officers. He assigns several other members of the agency to assist you.
