Summarize scholarly resources on ethical theories, legal responsibilities, and legal and ethical dilemmas.

Annotated Bibliography and Reference List

Submit your annotated bibliography and reference list for the project. The references used in your research should address value dilemmas that health care providers confront as well as reflect and support your chosen theory. Choose resources that help identify the ethical theory or rectify the problem situation.

Discuss either two (2) civil liberties or two (2) civil rights events (past or current) that have influenced a sense of social responsibility in the American government today.

Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which the student answers the following three (3) items using headers to separate each item:

Discuss either two (2) civil liberties or two (2) civil rights events (past or current) that have influenced a sense of social responsibility in the American government today. Provide examples to support your answer. Note: In your response, consider how the events influenced the way state, local or national political leaders or agencies responded in a socially responsible or ethical manner toward the community.

Discuss two (2) media events (past or present) that have positively and or negatively influenced the public’s opinion of a government agency. Provide examples to support your answer. Note: Consider how a news story or media coverage of an event positively or negatively changed the public’s opinion (or perception) regarding how responsible a government agency should be towards meeting the needs of its customers; i.e. the American people.

Discuss two (2) differences between the Republican and Democratic parties that may have an ethical impact (positively or negatively) on the American people. Provide examples to support your answer. Note: Consider the different ideals, values, morals, and/or goals held by the Republican and Democratic parties, and their different views on the ethically or morally right way to govern and make the best policies for the people they serve. Determine if your example presents any type of ethical concerns for or against the public interest of the American people.

Discuss and examine the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a global enterprise.

Based on the successes of your company, your Denver-based bottled water company is now a Fortune 100 producer within the United States. The company has decided to go global targeting Canada, Mexico, and China. Currently, you have central warehouse sites in three distinct domestic regions (Eastern, Central, and Western). You have awarded supply chain contracts to many local, as well as interstate, organizations. None of your current partners has the ability to deliver outside of the United States. They are, however, able to deliver to key border cities.
Prepare a 1,750- to 2,450-word global considerations report which will be used to discuss and examine the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a global enterprise. Include the following in your report:
• A brief overview describing the current logistics network given in this scenario and how your team would transition that network to a global supply chain. Be creative and design both the current and future networks as your team wishes to maximize the logistics efficiencies available.
• An analysis on the ethical and legal considerations in logistics management, both within the domestic United States and internationally
• An analysis on the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the supply chain given global distribution
• Identification, and further examination, of the importance of cultural considerations when negotiating supply chain contracts in a global environment

Research the FASB Accounting Standards Codification and prepare a memo to the president that answers his questions.

The Anderson Corporation (a privately-held company) is interested in in expanding its operating capacity, but is short on cash to finance the expansion. The president of the company does not want to borrow funds, but would not be averse to issuing some of the company’s stock to acquire land and a building. Baker Company owned land and a building, and was interested in disposing of them. After some negotiation, Anderson and Baker agreed to swap the land and building for shares in the Anderson Corporation. The president of Anderson Corporation has asked you how to account for this transaction, including whether the transaction qualifies as an exception to the general rule to use fair value, and the value to place on the transaction and its components. Research the FASB Accounting Standards Codification and prepare a memo to the president that answers his questions. Provide appropriate citations from the Codification.

Identify and list the potential user groups and users of WLAN in a school environment.

Assignment Requirements

Other than the Internet, probably no aspect of technology will have more impact on the classroom than the wireless local area network (WLAN), which may soon become as indispensable to the educational mission as chalkboards and textbooks. The benefits of a pervasive wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) deployment in primary and secondary education include:

Infrastructure Flexibility: A WLAN can be quickly rolled out virtually anywhere, without the need for extensive retrofitting of existing infrastructure.

Speed: Students can access a WLAN-enabled learning environment in a matter of seconds, without special connections, transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP) changes, or a tangle of cables. Teachers can focus on teaching and students can focus on learning.

Resource Mobility: A WLAN allows technology-learning tools such as laptops to be moved to wherever students are, rather than vice-versa.

Deploying WLAN in the classroom can bring enormous benefits, but there are some unique challenges to this environment. For a start, school IT staff is often stretched thin by the support demands of a large numbers of users, so the WLAN solution cannot require time-intensive configuration and administration. Schools also pose wireless coverage challenges because of the conflict between their sprawling layouts and the need to provide connectivity to multiple users in the confined area of a classroom. In addition, given the uncertainties of the school budget process, WLAN deployment costs must be kept low, leveraging existing infrastructure where possible, and offering advantages in terms of scale and price.

After reading the given information on the requirements of a school’s WLAN, your task for this assignment is to prepare a professional report. The report should focus on the following:

Identify and list the potential user groups and users of WLAN in a school environment.

Assess and describe the WLAN for probable risks in a school environment.

List and justify particular applications and protocols that should be allowed on the WLAN.

Determine and explain whether personal digital assistants (PDAs) should be allowed to access the WLAN.
