A Metaphor for Organizational Culture

Analyze an organization in which you are an active member (work, school, church, civic group, online community, etc.). Review pages 46-48 of your textbook for more information on communication practices reflecting organizational culture. Be creative and use a metaphor to compare the organization’s culture. For example, an organization’s culture could be compared to sharks or whales. The sharks are very competitive, and the whales are very cooperative. You can apply this metaphor or create your own for your organization. In your discussion include the following elements:

Explain how the organizational culture influences decision making.

What unwritten rituals, social practices, specialized vocabulary/jargon, values, or routine practices are exhibited by members or leaders?

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK)

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK): This framework demonstrates the combination of content expertise, information delivery expertise (pedagogy), and instructional technology implementation all used to enhance learning.

As explained in your textbook, TPACK combines pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, and technological knowledge to transform learning opportunities into student-centered opportunities for lesson engagement, global connections, and web interfacing through 21st century technology advancements. The TPACK framework demonstrates the interplay of three knowledge bases:

Pedagogical Content Knowledge: This area is where most teachers have their foundation as a content expert who delivers knowledge using the foundations of pedagogy.
Technological Content Knowledge: This area includes making content more accessible and differentiated through technology including graphing calculators, online language translators, and virtual world tours.

The final project for this class is to develop an agreement for the provision of forensic psychology services with affidavit.

You will develop this legal contract and affidavit for informing the court’s civil or criminal proceedings by using one of the six separate forensic psychological reports from the collection of forensic psychology recommendations (your final project in PSY 622).

You may review the six case scenarios in pages 13–30 in the PSY 622 Case Scenarios handout.

Review and submit a copy of one of your six graded forensic psychological reports to your instructor. You will use the same case report for the final project in PSY 626.
