A Metaphor for Organizational Culture

Analyze an organization in which you are an active member (work, school, church, civic group, online community, etc.). Review pages 46-48 of your textbook for more information on communication practices reflecting organizational culture. Be creative and use a metaphor to compare the organization’s culture. For example, an organization’s culture could be compared to sharks or whales. The sharks are very competitive, and the whales are very cooperative. You can apply this metaphor or create your own for your organization. In your discussion include the following elements:

Use a metaphor to compare the organization’s culture.

Explain how the organizational culture influences decision making.

What unwritten rituals, social practices, specialized vocabulary/jargon, values, or routine practices are exhibited by members or leaders?

Are any competing viewpoints from subcultures within the organization of the elements described above? If so, explain.

How are new members socialized into the system? What happens if someone violates an unwritten expectation for behavior?

Your response should be at least 200 words in length. Support your ideas with content from the textbook or other credible source. Use APA style citations to show paraphrased or quoted content that corresponds to an APA style reference.

Describe three waterborne diseases and suggest methods for their prevention.

Now that you have understood the impact of environmental factors on human health, create a 7 to 10 page microsoft word document addressing the following questions:

Describe three waterborne diseases and suggest methods for their prevention.
Provide one example of a toxic chemical that may enter the public water supply? Describe sone of the health effects that are attributed to toxic chemicals present in drinking water.
What health hazards are associated with uncontrolles and older waste sites in the United States? Describe the processes through which hazardous solid wastes can affect human beings.
Compare and contrast the current methods for treating sewage from those that were used in the Middle Age? Historically speaking, what factors spurred the development of today’s sanitary sewage systems?

Apply a systems thinking approach to global operations and supply chain management.

Systems Dynamics and Supply Chain Management

This assignment is the final component of your course project. For this assignment:

Integrate and revise the systems maps from your individual assignments to create a holistic, interactive, and transdisciplinary system map of the current state of the Japanese auto supply chain.
Integrate the analyses from your previous assignments to create a cohesive explanation of your overall analysis, defense of your systems map, conclusions, and future model for the supply chain.

For this component, you will:

Integrate and revise the systems maps from your individual assignments to create a holistic, interactive, and transdisciplinary system map of the current state of the Japanese auto supply chain.
Integrate the analyses from your previous assignments to create a cohesive explanation of your overall analysis, defense of your systems map, conclusions, and future model for the supply chain.
Refer to the project requirements for your final submission.
Be sure to incorporate instructor feedback you have received throughout the course.

To successfully complete this project, you will be expected to:

Apply a systems thinking approach to global operations and supply chain management.
Coordinate internal and external tasks across global operations and the supply chain.
Integrate quality assurance practices across global operations and the supply chain.
Apply the use of information infrastructures to the management and the coordination of global operations and supply chain management.
Create a holistic, interactive, and transdisciplinary systems map.

Examine a few key security, identity, and economic issues illustrated in this alternative world that could pose as threats to and/or as opportunities for United States’ interests.

Assume you are a special representative to the president of the United States assigned with the task of analyzing alternative future scenarios for the White House. Create a report to the president that explains the future scenario and its potential implications to the United States. Your paper should be organized into six sections:

Introduce the future scenario you will be describing and provide a brief overview of the main points of the rest of your paper.
Explain which international relations theory (or theories) you believe best describes, explains, and predicts the future scenario you choose.
Examine a few key security, identity, and economic issues illustrated in this alternative world that could pose as threats to and/or as opportunities for United States’ interests.
Provide recommendations on how the United States should prepare for these critical challenges to US national security, identity, and economic interests. Explain what tools (i.e., political, social/cultural, geographic/economic, military elements of power, international organizations, NGO’s) the United States should use to tackle these potential challenges to its goals/objectives.
Explain what school of thought (or combinations of schools) would best support the decisions you have made.
Conclude your paper with a brief review of your main points and overall argument/thesis.

Discuss the 3 areas of concern and how these can affect accreditation and/or financial status of the organization.

Based on your review of the data, you have identified 3 key areas of concern that you would like to address as part of the quality improvement initiative. If not addressed, these areas of concern may affect the organizations accreditation and/or profitability:

Patients are having to wait for extended periods of time in the emergency room (ER).
AKT is not implementing effective capacity management strategies for the resources that are currently available.
There are a high number of readmissions due to patients being discharged too early.

You decide to work with staff and management to develop and implement new policies that are grounded in evidence-based practice (EBP). To communicate the new policies with the staff, you will write a 2-page memo addressing the areas of concern and the new EBP policies that now be in place. In the memo, address the following:

Discuss the 3 areas of concern and how these can affect accreditation and/or financial status of the organization.
What is evidence-based practice?
How can evidence-based practice approaches be used to improve health care outcomes?
A set of new policies and procedures that includes 2-3 strategies based on EBP approaches for each area of concern that will be effective immediately
The memo should cite specific examples from the research reviewed regarding EBP approaches to resolving the issues.

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK)

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK)

Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK): This framework demonstrates the combination of content expertise, information delivery expertise (pedagogy), and instructional technology implementation all used to enhance learning.

As explained in your textbook, TPACK combines pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, and technological knowledge to transform learning opportunities into student-centered opportunities for lesson engagement, global connections, and web interfacing through 21st century technology advancements. The TPACK framework demonstrates the interplay of three knowledge bases:

Pedagogical Content Knowledge: This area is where most teachers have their foundation as a content expert who delivers knowledge using the foundations of pedagogy.
Technological Content Knowledge: This area includes making content more accessible and differentiated through technology including graphing calculators, online language translators, and virtual world tours.
Technological Pedagogical Knowledge: This area involves advanced learning processes through the use of technology that contribute to a wider variety of differentiated instructional opportunities including iPads that have text to speech programs, SMARTboard with text magnification, and online educational games that provide immediate feedback.

Develop an agreement for the provision of forensic psychology services with affidavit.

The final project for this class is to develop an agreement for the provision of forensic psychology services with affidavit.

You will develop this legal contract and affidavit for informing the court’s civil or criminal proceedings by using one of the six separate forensic psychological reports from the collection of forensic psychology recommendations (your final project in PSY 622).

You may review the six case scenarios in pages 13–30 in the PSY 622 Case Scenarios handout.

Review and submit a copy of one of your six graded forensic psychological reports to your instructor. You will use the same case report for the final project in PSY 626.

Revisit your PSY 622 course and retrieve the feedback provided by your previous instructor. Begin to formulate ideas on how to address weaknesses in your work. You will receive full points for submitting a copy of your chosen forensic psychological report.
