Determine the performance of the health insurance industry.

Over the years, the health insurance market has become more competitive and as a result consumers “…have been offered a greater choice in benefits, cost-sharing arrangements, premiums to match their own experience, and types of insurance products” (Feldstein, 2012, p. 242).

For this assignment, prepare an economic analysis brief that describes the role and impact of the health insurance market in the U.S. healthcare industry to demonstrate an understanding of Module 4. Discuss and synthesize key elements from at least two recent scholarly articles (found in the CSU-Global Library) that address one of the following points:

  • Determine the performance of the health insurance industry.
  • Apply economic models, theories, or assumptions.
  • Offer objective methods for attempting to predict future market behavior in response to events, trends, and cycles.
  • Assess economic policy recommendations for healthcare stakeholders.

Your analysis should be thoughtful and thorough, well written, and formatted accordingly:

  • Title page
  • Introduction – What is the topic, why is it important, and what are the objectives of your brief?
  • Body – What are the key elements of the scholarly articles that support the objectives of your brief? What economic models or concepts apply?
  • Conclusion – What are the future implications, policy recommendations, etc.?
  • Reference page

Your paper should be 3 to 4 pages in length

Discuss methods used vary from weak and mechanical to tightly managed.

  • Maximize resources
  • Contain costs
  • Ensure that appropriate care is provided

Create a presentation for the administration outlining your proposed policy and procedure.

Your presentation should comprise 5 to 7 slides (not including the title or reference slides), and should adhere to the CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. A minimum of three sources should be cited and referenced. Your slideshow presentation should also be accompanied by an audio track. Images used should include the source information in parenthesis below the image. (Example – Source: http:

determine the likely success of a new product that it plans to market. Acme Wholesaling, Inc.

You have been hired by Acme Wholesaling, Inc. to provide research to determine the likely success of a new product that it plans to market. Acme Wholesaling, Inc. wholesales various garments and accessories through street vendors in New York City. These items include umbrellas (for when it rains) and hats, gloves, and scarves (for when it is cold). The street vendors are small-time retailers that resell these items to the public. Many of these vendors establish their carts in Central Park and other park grounds in Manhattan.

An employee of Acme Wholesaling, Inc. has come up with an idea involving the sale of picnic blankets through these vendors for when the weather is nice and people want to sit out in the park. Acme Wholesaling, Inc. has a manufacturer lined up who will make these blankets in wool and cotton blend in various sizes, depending upon the order from Acme Wholesaling, Inc. The company would then resell these to the vendors. Although the ultimate consumer of these blankets is the individuals in the park, Acme Wholesaling, Inc. does not deal with them directly. They work solely through the street vendors.

Your job is to provide enough validation for the idea that Acme Wholesaling, Inc. can convince the street vendors to carry this new product on their carts.

Throughout this course, you will be working on various aspects of a research plan for the scenario company: Acme Wholesaling, Inc. This is the Key Assignment that you will be contributing to every week. The final assignment will be submitted in the form of a PowerPoint presentation at the end of the course. The following sections will be part of the final key assignment:

  • Secondary Sources: Week 2
  • Literature Review: Week 2

For this assignment, perform secondary research to uncover at least 3 items of secondary data that will be relevant to at least 1 or more of your research questions. Be sure to include the following:

  • These data can be statistical or narrative; they can be projected, current, or historical.
  • They should be listed along with the specific source from which those data originated, using proper APA citation format.
  • Accompanying each item of data should be a brief, 1-paragraph explanation of the relevance of the data statement to the research questions that you developed in Phase 1 for Acme Wholesaling, Inc..
  • Provide an introductory paragraph that restates the research questions that you designed in Phase 1. Make any revisions that you see fit, taking into account instructor feedback from Phase 1.

Describe a political poll or survey. Analyze the number of people who participated in the sample compared to the number in the population.

How Many People to Survey?

Poll results are prevalent in the media, especially leading up to elections, as are reports on surveys done by universities and research groups.

The survey results of small groups of people are used to portray a general consensus about a population. Do you ever wonder how many people should be included in a survey to make it a meaningful reflection of a population? Now you will be able to answer your own question. After learning this, you might never feel the same about these polls and surveys again.

Using the following specific resources, create a lecture (with citations) that includes the following:

Part 1: Survey Analysis

Entertainment Survey

Using a newspaper article from the AIU library’s full-text database: Newsstand (ProQuest), create a lecture (with citations) that includes the following:

  • Describe an entertainment poll or survey. Analyze the number of people who participated in the sample compared to the number in the population. Most news articles will not provide information on the number of people surveyed. In this case, critique the validity of the results. (Be sure to cite the article which must be from Newsstand ProQuest) Here is aResearch Guide.
  • Discuss how the results of the survey can be used to tell a story or support an idea of the sponsoring company or media group.

Political Survey

Use polls from one of the following sources:

Source 1

Source 2

  • Describe a political poll or survey. Analyze the number of people who participated in the sample compared to the number in the population.
  • Discuss how the results of the survey can be used to tell a story or support an idea of the sponsoring company or media group.

General Survey

Use polls from one of the following sources:

Source 1

Source 2

  • Describe a general opinion poll or survey. Analyze the number of people who participated in the sample compared to the number in the population.
  • Discuss how the results of the survey can be used to tell a story or support an idea of the sponsoring company or media group.

Overview

Consider the 3 surveys presented.

  • Using the knowledge you learned from the textbook, compare and contrast the sample sizes in each of the three surveys mentioned in the post and determine if the samples sizes are appropriate.
  • In your opinion, which appears to be the most valid? (Cite and reference the textbook)

This section of the paper will be 2–3 pages in length, and each survey or poll described must come from AIU Library’s National Newspapers ProQuest Database and the sources provided.

Please do not use quotes or copy definitions. You will not receive credit for understanding the materials if you use the words of others. Keep in mind that because you did research and you have citations in the body of the post, you must also place a reference list at the end containing the textbook and the articles cited.

Part 2: Application

Create your own 3-question entertainment survey or using this General Opinion Survey or another free survey program or this link. Secure a minimum of 20 responses. Your survey respondents may be friends, family or classmates. (Note: The small sample size was chosen for convenience, and as you know, is not a valid sample. The goal is for you to create, deploy, and analyze a simple survey.)

Create Excel charts of your results and describe those charts in words. (You will receive no credit for charts that are copied from the survey software.)

  • Include a copy of your survey
  • Provide charts of your results and describe those charts in words
  • Explain how the results of your survey can be used by a media group or company

This section of the paper will contain 1 page of text and 3 charts.
