1.Analyze your project in terms of project completion, critical path, and slack / float. Specifically, be sure to answer the following:
◦When will the project be completed?
◦What is the critical path for the project?
◦How much slack / float is in your project? What activities have the greatest slack / float?
2.Summarize the recommendations or improvements you would make to your project schedule. Specifically, be sure to answer the following:
◦Identify the top three (3) activities that you believe could impact the project completion date.
◦What additional activities would you add to this project to make it more complete, from a project management viewpoint?

The author of the article points out that what his mother ate during the 1930s and 1940s while growing up was not the food that the mother ate while growing up.

Name:
Date:
An Eater’s Manifesto
Reading over the article made me realize that the way we eat the food that we eat at the current times is far much different from the perception of food that was there in the past. According to the article‚ in the past people used to decide on what food to eat without the use of the help of any nutrition expertise and professionals. This was based on the fact that the question on ‘what food to eat’ was based on the culture of a given group of people. Since culture is passed from one generation to the next‚ this implies that what food that was being eaten by any given cultural group was based on the culture of that given group. The parents‚ therefore‚ played a very major role in determining that their children we to eat when they were born.
This is very interesting to me because it is very surprising that whatever the different cultures choose to eat as their food enabled them to live healthy lives. In addition to that‚ I am left with one very interesting question on how they and decided that certain foods were going to healthy for them to take. Most importantly‚ the article points out that culture was the backbone of what food that was to be eaten‚ how much of the food was to be eaten‚ the order of eating the food that was being eaten by a given group of people of a given culture‚ and with what a specific food was to be eaten and the time on when it was supposed to be eaten and this was just passed down from one generation to another by the parents. This left me wondering on how we currently see nutritionists and other specialists advising on what food to be eaten and what food not to be eaten in order to lead and maintain a healthy living.
This question‚ however‚ has been answered by the article in a very interesting manner. This is because the article points out that over the past decades the dinner menu has no longer been under mother’s control‚ but has been taken over by food marketers and scientists. In addition to that‚ the article points out that the food that we eat is being controlled by the government. This is because the government plays a very major role in setting up the rules and the regulations regarding dietary guidelines‚ food pyramids‚ and food labeling.
The author of the article points out that what his mother ate during the 1930s and 1940s while growing up was not the food that the mother ate while growing up. The food eaten in the author’s culture was mainly Jewish-American fare‚ which were mainly the foods that were being eaten by the people that were of the Eastern Europe and Russian origin. These foods included cheese blintzes‚ kreplach‚ knishes‚ stuffed cabbage‚ organ meats‚ chicken liver‚ and several other foods. The author points out that he never saw these food while growing up unless when he visited the grandparents who were still eating the food according to their culture. It is therefore very interesting to know that the foods that we eat currently are not the food that our grandparents used to eat and I believe that everyone should try to search into his/her roots on the food that used to be eaten by their traditional cultures. It might me interesting.
In conclusion‚ it is true that the food that we currently eat are not the ones that were eaten by our grandparents based on the culture as most of the food that we eat are determined by what the scientists deem to be healthy. I support the scientists and the government on the foods that they decide that we eat because unlike the past‚ there are some new diseases that were not there at the past and the foods that we are advised to eat will enable us to live healthy lives in the present times.

Discuss“Avoid Certain Mistakes in the Introduction”.

Follow the directions below for the completion of your Research Paper Draft 2 (introduction and review of literature) for Unit VI. If you have questions, please email your professor for assistance. As always, you may also seek out the guidance of the Success Center; the tutors are always there to assist you with your writing and comprehension. You may submit writing assignments to the Success Center by using a “Writing Center Request form” located on the myCSU Student Portal. To submit a “Writing Center Request form,” log into the myCSU Student Portal, click on “Success Center,” and then click on “Tutoring.”

Purpose:
The purpose of the second draft is to build upon the first draft that you have already written and to move your drafting process forward so that you can add a body, conclusion, and abstract to the paper, making it a cohesive and whole academic paper.

Description:
In this assignment, you will take Draft 1 (review of literature), written in Unit IV, and write an introduction to your final Research Paper that sets the context for your project, establishes your argument, asserts your thesis, and allows for an easy transition from your review of literature. Your introduction alone should be between 250-350 words. If the introduction alone is less than this word count, it is likely you have not fully developed your introduction, and this lack of development can severely impact your grade for this assignment. Your Draft 2 should include the elements listed below.

Elements:
The grade of your second draft is largely based on your inclusion of these elements and the overall quality of your writing. For assistance, you may want to refer to the examples in Chapter 23, Section 23a, of Strategies for Writing Successful Research Papers (pp. 507-509). Your Draft 2 must contain the following elements.

1. Cover page and APA formatting:
You should include an APA-style cover page for your Research Paper Draft 2. See the example on page 16 of The CSU APA Guide (6th edition). Your cover page should include the following: the title of your paper, your name, and the name of your university (Columbia Southern University). The running head should include up to 50 characters from the title of the paper, along with a sequential page number in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Introduction:
Draft and revise an introduction between 250-350 words to come before your revised review of literature. There are some pitfalls to writing an introductory paragraph, and you can avoid some of them by reading through the Checklist: “Avoid Certain Mistakes in the Introduction” on p. 495 of Strategies for Writing Successful Research Papers.

3. Review of literature:
Using the comments that you received on your Draft 1, revise your review of literature, and include it with Draft 2.

4. References:
Include a references list as the last page of the paper. See the example on pages 6, 7, and 21 of The CSU APA Guide (6th edition). All entries are those that have been cited in the text. No others are to be included. No textbooks should be included on the references list.

Responsibility Inferences and Inter-generational Obligations to Parents and Stepparents.

Final Research Paper- 25%
Your final research paper for this course is based on the Issues for Debate in Sociology textbook. You are required to read and participate in discussion questions for 4 of the 17 chapters in the Issues for Debate in Sociology textbook. Choose one of the other 13 chapters from the book (Celebrity Culture, Teaching Values, Closing Guantanamo, Middle-Class Squeeze, Debating Hip-Hop, Women’s Rights, Future of Marriage, Religious Fundamentalism, The Obama Presidency, HPV Vaccine, Declining Birthrates, Rapid Urbanization, or Socially Responsible Investing) and use that chapter as your final research paper topic. You can choose to write about any topic that is discussed in the chapter that you choose. The final research paper should be double spaced and between three and four pages (750-1000 words) in length, not including the title page and references page, using APA writing style. You must use a minimum of 4 references in this paper. The research paper is due by the end of Module 7 and is worth 25% of your overall grade for this course.
Be sure to submit your project in one WORD document in APA format.
For additional information on how your work will be graded, see the SLA writing rubric.

Here is the assignment.

The Topic is: TEACHING VALUES

Determine the possible circumstances under which the company should discontinue operations.

Using the regression results and the other computations from Assignment 1, determine the market structure in which the low-calorie frozen, microwavable food company operates.
Use the Internet to research two (2) of the leading competitors in the low-calorie frozen, microwavable food industry, and take note of their pricing strategies, profitability, and their relationships within the industry (worldwide).
Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:
Outline a plan that will assess the effectiveness of the market structure for the company’s operations. Note: In Assignment 1, the assumption was that the market structure [or selling environment] was perfectly competitive and that the equilibrium price was to be determined by setting QD equal to QS. You are now aware of recent changes in the selling environment that suggest an imperfectly competitive market where your firm now has substantial market power in setting its own “optimal” price.
Given that business operations have changed from the market structure specified in the original scenario in Assignment 1, determine two (2) likely factors that might have caused the change. Predict the primary manner in which this change would likely impact business operations in the new market environment.
Analyze the major short run and long cost functions for the low-calorie, frozen microwaveable food company given the cost functions below. Suggest substantive ways in which the low-calorie food company may use this information in order to make decisions in both the short-run and the long-run.
TC = 160,000,000 + 100Q + 0.0063212Q2
VC = 100Q + 0.0063212Q2
MC= 100 + 0.0126424Q
Determine the possible circumstances under which the company should discontinue operations. Suggest key actions that management should take in order to confront these circumstances. Provide a rationale for your response. (Hint: Your firm’s price must cover average variable costs in the short run and average total costs in the long run to continue operations.)
Suggest one (1) pricing policy that will enable your low-calorie, frozen microwavable food company to maximize profits. Provide a rationale for your suggestion.
(Hints:
In Assignment 1, you determined your firm’s market demand equation. Now you need to find the inverse demand equation. Having found that, find the Total Revenue function for your firm (TR is P x Q). From your firm’s Total Revenue function, then find your Marginal Revenue (MR) function.
Use the profit maximization rule MR = MC to determine your optimal price and optimal output level now that you have market power. Compare these values with the values you generated in Assignment 1. Determine whether your price higher is or lower.)
Outline a plan, based on the information provided in the scenario, which the company could use in order to evaluate its financial performance. Consider all the key drivers of performance, such as company profit or loss for both the short term and long term, and the fundamental manner in which each factor influences managerial decisions.
(Hints:
Calculate profit in the short run by using the price and output levels you generated in part 5. Optional: You may want to compare this to what profit would have been in Assignment 1 using the cost function provided here.
Calculate profit in the long run by using the output level you generated in part 5 and cost data in part 3 and assuming that the selling environment will likely be very competitive. Determine why this would be a valid assumption.)
Recommend two (2) actions that the company could take in order to improve its profitability and deliver more value to its stakeholders. Outline, in brief, a plan to implement your recommendations.
Use at least five (5) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia does not qualify as an academic resource.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:
Analyze short-run and long-run production and cost functions.
Apply macroeconomic concepts to changes in global and national economies and how they affect economic growth, inflation, interest rates, and wage rates.
Evaluate the profit-maximizing price and output level for given operating costs for monopolies and firms in competitive industries.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in managerial economics and globalization.
Write clearly and concisely about managerial economics and globalization using proper writing mechanics.

Discuss the importance of the social and psychological crisis of a man in mid-life who develops a disability, etc.

After viewing the movie, critically think about the major character, Melvin Udall. The goals of this assignment is to evidence mastery of the course material by applying a theory that explains the behavior of Mr. Udall. Special attention should be give to the impact that diversity has had on him as he relates to the social environment. Analyze Mr. Udall within the multidimensional (person-in-environment/ecological) framework, and discuss the relevance of at least 2 theories studied in HBSE I. Questions that should be addressed in the written paper include, but need not be limited to the following: A. How does the character display typical issues of his stage of human development? Freud- Stage of psychosexual development Erickson-Stages of psychological crisis Kohlberg-Stage of Moral Development Use any material form the text describes your chosen theories,(Meso Micro Macro) and compare them to describe Mr. Udall’s life challenge. For example, discuss the importance of the social and psychological crisis of a man in mid-life who develops a disability, etc. What other conflicts are evident in the role (race, class, color, disability, family structure, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, religion) or norms of Mr. Udall? Is his behavior in conflict with group, cultural, or ethnic norms of his/her family or community system? How so? B. What is the nature of interactions of character with other systems (ie.family community, formal organizations, and society)? How does this shape his/her development and functioning? What is the socioeconomic status of the family or character? How does that impact the character’s development? Are there patterns of abuse, neglect, and/or addiction on the part of the character or his/her family members? How does that affect the character’s development? How does your chosen theory explain this? C. Think of another theory that may offer explanation to the behavior of the character How is the theory similar/different than your previous theory? Provide examples from movie to help support your argument. Be sure to address the multidimensional framework ( biological, psychological (Freud), social (could look at micro, etc influences), culture, spiritual dimensions). Must use a minimum of two theories.
