Describe how Air Force’s emerging capabilities can be best employed to deliver strategic air power effects.

Air Force is undergoing one of the most significant air power capability upgrades ever undertaken in Australia. Improved operational effects will result from the technological advances provided by these upgrades and the enhanced technical and professional mastery of those who operate and maintain them. However, air operations are only ever conducted to contribute to strategic outcomes, and professional mastery of air power involves gaining an understanding of the strategic basis for operations. In line with the strategic level of the course, do not focus on the technology of emerging capabilities or their operational effects. Rather, you may wish to consider discussing:how emerging capabilities will affect the air power rolesthe relevance of professional mastery to the strategic use of air powerhow Air Force shapes, deters and respondsimpact of capability upgrades in a whole-of-government approachAustralia’s strategic environmentair power in an effects-based approach.

Identify their weak points and why one might disagree, provide new arguments for or against the claim in question, and/or defend the authors arguments from a (real or hypothetical) critic.

In most general terms, the task is to formulate and defend a thesis, or central claim. Toward the beginning of the paper, it should clearly state the thesis. (I will argue that… or My thesis is… or I claim that…. etc.) It is only a slight simplification to say that everything in the paper should be aimed at supporting the thesis- why the reader should accept your thesis as true, and why opposing argument fail.

Assignment:

Paper topic:
Identify the author a main claim(or one of the authors main claims). Clearly explain that claim and the authors arguments for it. Then evaluate those arguments: identify their weak points and why one might disagree, provide new arguments for or against the claim in question, and/or defend the authors arguments from a (real or hypothetical) critic.

You just give a statement of your
thesis and an outline of the argument.

Please NOTE: You are only doing a thesis and an outline on what the paper will be about. Whoever this assignment is given to will also be doing the 7-9 pg paper in the upcoming days in which I will be uploaded in a couple of days as well for that separate assignment

In essay form (1 pages double-spaced), provide a general description of your example of communication and situate it in relation to the historical period and sociocultural location in which it takes place.

Select a concrete example of communication that will serve as your object of investigation. It can be an example of any form of communication, such as a painting, a photograph, a letter, a speech, a piece of music, an advertisement, a phone conversation, a scene from a film or television program, a website etc. Since you will be doing a very detailed analysis, it is important that you select an example that is manageable. For example, if you are considering a film you should select a particular scene or sequence of shots to consider. For example, if you are analyzing a film clip, it is best to use one that can be found online, say on YouTube. If you are analyzing an image or song lyrics, attach a copy to your completed paper.
A. In essay form (1 pages double-spaced), provide a general description of your example of communication and situate it in relation to the historical period and sociocultural location in which it takes place. In short: what is it? Where and when does it take place? Who are the participants? Through what mechanism/medium does it occur?
B. In a two-column format, provide a close reading of the communication example you have chosen (2 pages).
In column one, provide a detailed comprehensive denotative description that breaks your example
down into basic meaningful elements. You should provide a detailed literal account that avoids implied meanings or interpretations as much as possible. (Catalog specifically what was said, visual elements and qualities color, texture, motion, etc.; characteristics of sound or other elements of perception).
In column two, provide connotative readings of the elements described in your denotative description. What meanings and association do the denotative meanings convey or imply. This requires more interpretation but still focuses on the immediate context and commonly available associations of each element. This connotative analysis is also aimed at showing the broadly shared meanings of the events. Therefore, it should not be based on meanings that the item has only for one person.

How do the the texts this week make the case that photography might be an art?

Last time we discussed the presumption in the 19th century that photography was a work of science or industry. How do the the texts this week make the case that photography might be an art? In their estimation, is photography a new kind of art, or somehow connected to pre-existing notions of \”Art\”? Use examples from all three texts to prove your point.500-700 words, and be prepared to discuss in class!
