Existing control measures will also be evaluated so as to make sure that they can prevent injuries or illnesses and a success for this will be if they are suitable enough to prevent the risk from occurring.

Brief Project Description
The project to be handled is that of project risk assessment. It is a vital process to think about before the start of any project. Thinking about the risks involved in a project helps in planning how a project can avoid or lessen the risks in general. Project risk assessment runs through the entire life cycle of a project. It will be reviewed on a regular basis either a monthly, annually or bi-annually basis.
Project Start Date:
Project End Date:
Key Faculty/Staff Involved
In the entire risk assessment project, I will be the project lead. Other people who will be involved in developing, implementing and evaluating the project are those who have vast knowledge and experience in the field of risk assessment.
Project Significance
The entire project is important because it identifies hazards, analyzes or evaluates the risks associated with the hazard and determines the appropriate ways that will lead to the elimination of the hazard. Ideally, it is one that looks at a workplace and identifies things, situations or processes that may cause harm, particularly to people. After identification then evaluation of the risk is done, and measures to prevent the risk from happening are undertaken. Therefore, the project is important because it creates awareness of hazards and risks, identifies individuals who may be at risk, determines whether existing control measures are adequate, prevents injuries or illnesses and prioritizes controls and hazard measures.

Determining Success of the Project
In determining if the risk assessment project is successful, I will identify the rate of risk reduction and elimination. Success will also be defined if the hazards will be totally eliminated and no harm will occur to people. Existing control measures will also be evaluated so as to make sure that they can prevent injuries or illnesses and a success for this will be if they are suitable enough to prevent the risk from occurring.

Describe the relevant cultural movements and their characteristic themes, and elucidate the connections between these and your particular texts.

Instructions:
Please write a 4-5 page paper (double-spaced, 12-point font, 1 inch margins) on the following topic. Do not analyze issues using evidence listed one after the other in catalog fashion, but use them as the basis for a unified essay. Develop a specific thesis (argument or main point) that will help you synthesize your ideas and evidence into cogent discussion. Do your best to think analytically and write clearly and I will offer constructive criticism. Remember, a good paper has introductory and concluding paragraphs and a clear thesis, is well organized by paragraphs that are connected by strong transitional statements and has no grammatical errors.
This is not a research paper. Use only the primary texts and your lecture notes. Use your notes from lectures and class discussions to describe the relevant cultural movements and their characteristic themes, and elucidate the connections between these and your particular texts. Use examples from the texts as evidence for the associations that you make. Cite the texts by page numbers in parentheses; no separate endnotes or bibliography are required.
You must also submit an electronic copy of your paper to SafeAssign using the link in Blackboard. In order to comply with federal (FERPA) and state privacy laws, you (students) are not required to include personal identifying information such as your name, SSN, and/or U# in the body of the work (text) or use such information in the file naming convention prior to submitting.
Topic:
Prompt: Find a cultural issue which really interests you (you’ll be spending some time generating ideas about this so it better be interesting and important to you! 😉 Then choose at least three images, one from the course PowerPoints and two from outside research (using a search engine or images scanned at the USF library) Argue a point about the issue concerning its causes and effects and to what extent it has created change in society.
In addition to your three chosen images, analyze other various interrelated texts (literature, sociology, music, architecture, et. al) and use them in conjunction with the notes from lectures and course readings (where relevant) to write an essay. The use of various texts will aid you in writing an interdisciplinary essay. Feel free to set up an appointment to discuss your paper ideas or ask questions.
You may be asked to present your paper as an in-class exercise for a participation grade.

Discuss ways in which Bill will apply elements of the affective domain in this learning project.

Bill is 48 years old and has repaired lawn mowers in his small shop in Fairview, Tennessee for the last eight years. He is about 30 miles from Nashville, Tennessee, and he is just 12 miles from Dickson, Tennessee. He has deliberately kept his business small to control costs and complexity. Last week, he received a bulletin from this leading tractor manufacturer that it is introducing a new model with a new computer-based monitoring system. Although he has dealt with limited applications of computer chips in these machines, this is a much more sophisticated application. He knows that several of his customers own this brand of mower and that they are likely to buy the new models. He wants to learn how to repair these computer-based monitoring systems. In the bulletin, the company announced a limited number of seminars at the manufacturing plant in Horicon, Wisconsin. It has also announced a series of Webinars and online training sessions for the new innovation. There is also a manufacturer’s service manual for the new models. Bill cannot take time off or afford to travel to the seminars.

Answer the following questions based on the scenario:

  • What do you think Bill should do to construct a learning plan? If he were to write one out, formally, what might it look like? How would you express his learning needs? What would his terminal performance objective look like?
  • What kinds of self-motivation does Bill have? Discuss ways in which Bill will apply elements of the affective domain in this learning project.
  • How can Bill apply the cognitive concept of metacognition and its extension, reflexivity, from constructivist theory? How do Piaget’s ideas on assimilation and accommodation apply to this example of adult learning?
  • What other elements or characteristics of constructivist learning theory might he apply here? How can he learn what he needs to learn as quickly and as thoroughly as possible?

Use research, and APA format to construct your response. Your paper should include a title page, abstract and reference page along with the content.

Discuss the purposes of each type of assessment, during the instructional design process and during the delivery process.

In this assignment, you will compare and contrast assessment and evaluation. You must complete the following:

  • Give an example, from classroom or online applications other than this course, of assessment, then compare and contrast that with an example of evaluation. Discuss the defining characteristics of each type, assessment and evaluation, and ways in which teachers and trainers use each one in instructional design and delivery.
  • Give examples of formative and summative assessment and discuss similarities and differences. Discuss the purposes of each type of assessment, during the instructional design process and during the delivery process.
  • Using examples, discuss similarities and differences between formative evaluation and summative evaluation. Discuss the purposes of each, and how teachers and trainers use them in practical settings. How are these two types used in the instructional design process? How are they used, and what issues can they help the instructor avoid or resolve during the delivery process? Provide examples to illustrate.

Use peer-reviewed academic sources to support your thoughts and ideas. Do not just give answers from the sources. To demonstrate your understanding, answer the questions in your own words and using sources as backup to justify your ideas. The paper must be completed in APA manuscript format.

Discuss an example of your own stereotype or one about which you have read that illustrates an instance of misunderstanding that occurs when the signals sent by a person of one culture are misinterpreted by a person from another culture.

WRITING RESPONSE

Choose one of the topics below and respond to it for this assignment. You must respond to all parts of your chosen topic.

Format: 12 point font. Times New Roman font, double spaced. Minimum 1 full page. Paragraphs, complete sentences, good grammar should be a part of your paper. Vulgarities will not be tolerated.

Topics to pick from:

  1. Respond to any topics brought up in the textbook or a news article related to diversity.

  1. How did your family immigrate to the United States? How did they end up in the area they live in today?

  1. Write a set of instructions explaining how to become a “typical” student at your college. Focus on clothing, possessions, behavior, and customs that would have to be adopted to belong to your college’s dominant culture.

  1. Trace the process of how you became a member of a particular community within your town or school (a social clique, social organization, activity, etc.).

  1. Consider the way the media perpetuates negative stereotypes. Think of examples from movies, TV shows, or newspapers that characterize persons from specific groups. Discuss whether you think the portrayals are accurate or whether you believe they misrepresent reality.

  1. Discuss an example of your own stereotype or one about which you have read that illustrates an instance of misunderstanding that occurs when the signals sent by a person of one culture are misinterpreted by a person from another culture.

  1. How do you think you would have to change if you moved from a rural to an urban areas, or vice versa? What changes would you consider to be negative or positive?

  1. How have your parents’ attitudes and experiences helped to shape your ideas about the value of work and/or education?

  1. What kinds of role models are important to children in your community? What are differ

Give accounts of Descartes’ explanation for mind-body interaction and the problems with such an explanation.

In Descartes’ argument for the existence of the body, what guarantees its independence from the mind and what guarantees that one’s perception of it is not a mere product of some deceitful schemes? Explain your answers. Give accounts of Descartes’ explanation for mind-body interaction and the problems with such an explanation.

2. For Descartes, what form of knowledge can be proven as incorrigible through methodical doubt? Why is it incorrigible? What is the relevance of such proof in establishing the existence of the mind as something that exists independently of the body? How can we use his proof of its incorrigibility as an illustration for the rationalist claim that reason (not the senses) is the sufficient guide to truth? How can the foundations of scientific and mathematical knowledge be considered corrigible through methodical doubt?

3. In your own words, briefly state Papineau’s causal argument for materialism. What is the abstract claim that he considers to be a necessary presupposition of his argument? Why is it important for him to presuppose such a claim? What is his general response to any objection that denies any of his premises?

4. Give an account of Jackson’s possible objection to Papineau’s abstract claim. Based on Jackson’s knowledge argument, give an account of his case for his objection. Critics of Jackson’s epiphenomenalism generally point out that there is something counterintuitive about the claim that mental states do not causally interact with physical states. Give an account of Jackson’s response to such critics.

5. Give an account of Kant’s critique of rationalism and empiricism. Give an account of Kant’s epistemological theory that, in some sense, attempts to reconcile rationalism and empiricism. Rationalists generally argue that, since there are principles that are universally agreed upon by all humans, such principles must have been based on innate ideas. Give an account of Locke’s response to such argument and his case for the sensible or experiential ground of the use of reason.
