ASSIGNMENT: By now you should know what to do to write a personal response. Choose one incident that you think will help you to write about Jacobs\’s female experience as a slave girl (as opposed to Douglass\’s male experience). Remember, your choice should be an important event in the book! In your introduction, use author and title. Explain the incident in your own words, and use a quotation from the text to help explain Jacobs\’s perspective.
