Discuss ethical and moral reasons for supporting the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

This discussion presents the opportunity for you to address the inequality of access to healthcare in the United States using moral and ethical reasoning. There is overwhelming evidence that social inequalities affect health outcomes. Many argue that lack of health care access related to poverty is a human rights concern in the United States and that should be subject to public and social justice inquiry. As such, the Affordable Care Act was implemented to promote health equity. Prepare and post a response to the following prompt:

From the viewpoint of a social justice activist, present an argument to a Congressional committee as to the ethical and moral reasons for supporting the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Through research, anticipate an item of debate that will be offered to you by the panel and use at least one ethical theory or perspective from the text to support your evidence of moral imperative.

Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly sources, and properly cite any references in APA style.

  • Analyze how executives of corporate America have embraced the new regulations and requirements of the Sox Act while maintaining their purpose to produce a profit for investors and staying in compliance of the new rules in the industry. Explain what those new requirements are for the CEO and CFO of publicly traded companies.
  • Describe your assessment of the responsibilities established for accounting personnel—including protection for whistle-blowers—and for the public accounting auditors.
  • Determine how the responsibilities of the board of directors audit committee have changed due to the Sox Act in overseeing the financial reporting process and to hire and be in charge of the independent auditors.
  • Provide recommended sanctions to be imposed on those who do not comply with the SOX Act provisions, and whether or not the sanctions should be stiffened or should include other personnel in the organization.

Describe the sampling site locations and particulate matter sizes sampled; list three PAH’s that were sampled.

Section 10.4 of Chapter 10 examines a case study concerning air pollution in a real-world environment. Describe the sampling site locations and particulate matter sizes sampled; list three PAH’s that were sampled. Explain how the AirmetricsMiniVol portable air sampler works. Which location in the case study had the highest average mass concentration of PM2.5? Why? What type of cooking (deep-frying, stir-frying, or boiling) results in the highest PM2.5 concentrations and thereby poses the highest health risks?

Summarize three of the subsections within section 6.5.1.

Summarize three of the subsections within section 6.5.1. Why did you choose the three subsections you summarized? What was most significant about their content? The authors indicate a mean volume of 4.2×106 μm3 for a single alveolus. Please verify (or disprove) this number, using another source (and provide the reference). If the mean volume of 4.2×106 μm3 is correct, and the volume can be approximated in the shape of a cube, what is the length of the side of the cube?

Your response must be at least 300 words in length. You are required to use at least your textbook as source material for your response. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations
