Memo- Decision making

Choose one topic among the three below and write a two-page executive report for a chief executive officer, who is either your superior or your consulting client.

Topic #1 Talent Development Plan for CIO

Ms. Rebecca Rapport is a mid-level IT manager at IVK Corporation. She has a bachelors degree in Engineering from an Ivy League university and has been working at IVK for the last 10 years. Her performance has been valued at an exceptional level throughout her tenure at IVK. Thus, she is regarded by many at IVK as a promising candidate for a Chief Information Officer position. While he considers her an executive material, Mr. Carl Williams, the CEO of IVK, worries that she does not have any business background in her credentials. Mr. Williams consults you about devising a talent development plan for Ms. Rapport. Your report has to have at least two or more options that Mr. Williams can accept. Also, make one recommendation for him and provide justification why your choice is the most effective alternative.

Project description
My topic for my research paper is Illegal Immigration i the United States. Remember this is only the opening introduction to a research paper. Its not the Full Paper

Illegal immigration in the United States is becoming a major issue. Some major questions i want answered are: Why does Donald Trump want to build a wall and would it be successful in stopping illegal immigration. Would hiring more border security help, why or why not? Why does Clinton want to increase unregistered Syrians by 550%. Why will they allow them to come into the United States and give them a drivers License without any documentation? Whenever i go to renew a license i always have to bring 5 sets of documents. What can we do to help secure our borders so that we dont continue to have this problem?

museum response

Read the article, visit the Baltimore Museum of Art(don\’t need to visit, I\’ll give you the photo), and write a response.Part 1. Read Carol Duncan and Allan Wallach, “The Universal Survey Museum.”Here are some questions that will help you take notes on the reading. You will need to know the answers in order to complete Part 2.What is the “universal survey museum?”What museums do the authors use as their examples?Duncan and Wallach use several interchangeable terms to describe the museum, including: “an ensemble” (p. 51), “a complex” (p. 52) and “a totality” (p. 53). These terms all roughly mean the same thing. What do all three terms capture? What happened to the experience of the visitor when museums shifted from princely collections to public institutions (55-58)?What do Duncan and Wallach mean when they say the museum has a “hegemonic” function? (59)Part 2. Pick two different artworks in the museum. One artwork should be located in the Modern Art/Cone Collection section, and one located in any other gallery in the museum. The goal of this assignment is to think about the ways in which modern art is displayed differently than art from other time periods, and why. Then post a 500-word response that addresses the following points.A – Introduction to your artworks – What are the two artworks you chose, and where are they located in the museum?Tip! Make sure to label the artwork properly, for example: Paul Cézanne, Mont Sainte-Victoire (1885)WRITE THIS TWO ARTWORKS:1. Upaupa Schneklud(The Player Schneklud) by Paul Gauguin2. The Last Supper by Andy WarholB – Observations & analysis – Analyze the three following elements of the museum:Architecture & spatial layout – What is the exhibition space like in the Modern Art gallery versus the other gallery you chose? How do the two exhibition spaces relate to the rest of the museum building, collections, or nearby galleries? (COMPARE CONE COLLECTION, CONTEMPORARY SECTION AND ENGLISH SPORTING ART SECTION)Texts – What type of information do the wall texts or brochures give you about your two artworks?Display strategies (lighting, cases, pedestals) How are your two artworks displayed in the space? Are particular aspects of the artworks highlighted? Does the display encourage visitors to act in a particular way?C – Save space for a final paragraph! Answer the following question: How does the display strategies you observed connect to the Duncan & Wallach article? You MUST refer to at least two concepts or quotations from the article.*****Here is the rubric on which you\’ll be graded:Properly identify your selected artworks & their locations: 3 pointClearly articulate your observations on 3 different subjects (architecture & spatial layout; texts; display strategies): 3 pointsWrite a conclusion that addresses the question “How does the BMA, the artworks, and/or the display strategies you have observed connect to the Duncan & Wallach article?” 2 pointsProperly cite 2 concepts or quotations from the Duncan & Wallach article: 2 points

Psychology in the news

For this assignment, your job is to find a recent news story from the popular media that 1) relates to the psychological development of children between conception and age three and 2) that cites a scholarly study conducted by a research team. You may use a news story from anytime in the last three years (2014, 2015, or 2016). Your primary source should be popular media (online, on TV, on the radio, or in a newspaper; e.g., The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, CBC, The Guardian, NBC News, and many more) and must also cite a scholarly source published in an academic journal (e.g., Developmental Science, Infancy, Child Development, Psychological Science, Cognition, and many more).

In your paper, you should first describe the theory, hypotheses, methods, results, and conclusions from the original scholarly article. Then you should analyze the way that the popular media analyzed the article. Did the media story do an accurate job relating the researchers findings and conclusions? How did they do so, or how did they not? What facets of the original article did the media story leave out? Do you believe that a lay reader, without experience reading scholarly sources, would get an accurate view of the original research just from reading the news story? Why or why not?

REPORT ON HDR ON WILDLIFE & FISHERIES MANAGEMENT

We know that the discipline of the study of the human dimensions of natural resource
management had its origins in efforts to conserve New England forests led by Cornell
University and has since spread to the management of other natural resources. Today the
relevance of human dimensions research (HDR) in wildlife (and fisheries) management is
a particularly popular subject. The importance of understanding human values in tandem
with strong ecological science is increasingly viewed as being fundamental to
understanding current complex wildlife and biodiversity management issues, and to the
development of successful and lasting solutions.
In class lecture and discussions weve been introduced to the Point Reyes Fallow Deer
management problem and to the Bambi Syndrome. In fact prolific HDR work is being
done and applied to the management of urban deer populations around the country.
Concepts of social psychology, identity theory, model-based planning, and public
engagement and stakeholder involvement in decision-making are bringing the insight and
power of social science into wildlife management, from waterfowl management plans, to
building support for wildlife refuges, and even to efforts to alter inappropriate dog owner
behavior.
For this second of four graded written assignments, you are to locate, read, and report on
an instance of published contemporary research on an issue involving the application of
HDR to wildlife management. The research must have been published in print or on-line
within the past four years and must relate to management of wildlife, fisheries, or
biodiversity resources. The report should identify the primary researchers and their
academic/agency/or industry affiliation, and the sponsor of the research; discuss
generally the scope and methodology of the research; report on its findings and
applications; and discuss its possible broader relevance, if any.
