Explain the format of the show, use the facts to support, introduce why the judges are so integral to the show’s success with the public and how spoken language makes them successful at their jobs.

How do the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judges adapt their spoken language when at work?

Consider:

-The use of spoken language features and how these have been used to entertain

-Public attitudes and responses to the judges

Strictly facts:

Transcript 1: Abbey Clancy and Aliajz’s Charleston feedback

Daly: Craig, has she done enough to get to Blackpool?

Revel-Horwood: I think she has, absolutely. That was (3) I love the stylisation. The enormous attention to detail was INCREDIBLE in that dance routine (.) I loved the singe pated hop, pull back slides that you did which are so difficult that fantastic troch and step at the end (.) You did not Charleston quietly thank goodness. It was loud, my darling and it (.) was (.) rowed

Daly:  [to Abbey and Aljaz] you enjoyed that didn’t you? You enjoyed yourselves. Darcy, did you enjoy it?

Bussell: I just loved the gorgeously mad side of Abbey this is brilliant to show us this (.) I loved it (.) and it’s so unusual how what ease you did with that prop (.) to have a hat when you are not a performer and to be able to do all those things with that hat was brilliant and it was the leg action it was fast and furious and that monkey step at the end (.) great (.) I really enjoyed that because you got the hands in because it was very fast but (.) well done Aljaz you have made a true dancer out of Abbey

Daly: A true dancer. Has she come back fighting, Len?

Goodman: Well it was a Charleston (.) it was goin back to the twenties (1) Downton Abbey (2) Abbey and Aljaz I tell you what that is A A (.) and I tell you what you don’t need the AA (.) that didn’t break down at all (.) that was a beautiful journey and I tell you what (.) stay in that car (.) get up the M1 and I will see you next week in Blackpool

Daly: All the way to Blackpool (.) come on! Bruno?

Tonioli: Oh yes I couldn’t agree more. It was Abbey the IT girl with a HUGE HIT in her hands (.) you combine the elude of Louise Brookes and the vivacity of Liza Minnelli but what I really liked and Craig is absolutely right (.) it was a Charleston but it had a Bob Fosse influence (.) it

Support data must be included in addition to the actual report.  You are free to use any other sources for information.  Your full report should also include any other source data referenced in your recommendations.  For instance, if you quote an S&P research report or Morningstar stock report, they should be included as appendixes to your analysis.  Any numbers presented in the report must include support data.

Calculations for valuation models should be in addendums.  An Excel spreadsheet must also be incorporated in your report.  More details on this requirement will be given later.

Discuss and analyze your results and conclude quantitatively (speedup, bandwidth, etc).

Q1:
1. Get the computation right on the host (serial) for a very small example. Vector x = {-2.1, -1.3, -0.4, 1.9, 5.1, 6.2}. Time it.
2. Replicate the host computation for the small example on the Nvidia device using CUDA code. Time it. It is likely that your device computation will be much slower on the device, especially if data movement from host to device and back is taken into account.
3. Extend the example to any input array size while comparing that host and device produce the same result. Keep comparing execution time.
4. Apply the optimisations found on the research paper work indicated above and replicate their experiments. Organize your experiments in tables. Produce graphs similar to Figure shown below.
5. Try to apply your own ideas for further optimisation. Include them (and briefly explain) even if they fail to give you an advantage.

Q2:
Write a report on: Kernel Density Estimation on the GPU Using the CUDA Framework. The report should include (Methodology and implementation) on the following:
1. Sequential Algorithms (univariate)
2. Naive CUDA algorithms (univariate)
3. CUDA optimisations algorithms (univariate)
4. Discuss and analyze your results and conclude quantitatively (speedup, bandwidth, etc).
5. Please include all source code (c++ and CUDA source code with comments) So that it can be easily replicated. Use scripts in order to show graphs/tables included in the report can be generated with little effort.
6. References.

Discuss each of the aims and objectives presented in the introduction.

Plagiarism Quiz
You should complete the quiz and also visit the Skills@Library website for more information on academic integrity.

Your work will be uploaded to Turnitin. If you plagiarise, you will be caught. Several students have been excluded from the University over the last couple of years for plagiarism. Don’t let it be you!

Your report will also contain your code. This mini-project is an individual piece of work. Do not let your friends and classmates copy your code. This is collusion.

Report Outline
Create your report in Word or similar software. Use the following structure:

Title Page (include your name and SID)
Contents Page
Introduction
Hardware Description
Software Description
Results and Testing
Conclusion
References
Appendix
Use relevant subsections as you see fit i.e. 4.1 LCD Display

The suggested length is 10 to 14 pages. The appendix does not count towards the page length.

Introduction
This is your opportunity to set your report in context.
What is an embedded system?
What is a microcontroller?
What are the possible applications of your project?
List a set of clear aims and objectives for your project.
To get the best marks, you are expected to do further reading and not just rely on the lab notes.

Hardware Description
Present an overall system block diagram.
Discuss each block in depth (use sub-sections).
Include images of each block.
Link the operation of each block to the underlying theory.
To get the best marks, you are expected to do further reading and not just rely on the lab notes (e.g. how does the LCD interface work?).

Software Description
If you followed good software engineering practice, your code should be split into different functions.
Present flowchart of the overall software flow.
You should not create a flowchart that mirrors the code line-by-line, it is more of a general overview.
If the flowchart is too simple, the reader would not be able implement the algorithm.
If the flowchart is too complex, it can be difficult for the reader to follow. Find the right balance.
Present flowcharts of each function.

Results and Testing
This corresponds to the technical merit of the project in the report rubric.

Present the testing of the temperature logger.
You can take images of the LCD screen using a camera demonstrating the functionality.
To achieve the highest marks, you are required to implement original features – ensure these are discussed here to obtain credit for them.

Conclusion
Discuss each of the aims and objectives presented in the introduction.
If you did not meet them, explain why.
Discuss how you could expand the project in fututre.

References
Reference any resources you have used.
Avoid the use of Wikipedia.
Use IEEE referencing style. There are good examples on the University of York website.

Appendix
Paste your code into the appendix so that it can be run through Turnitin and checked for plagiarism/similarity with your classmates.

Formatting
Do not use colourful/jazzy Word templates. They look amateurish and detract from the technical content.
Use sections and sub-sections to break the text up. Technical reports are not like essays. Section titles are normally bold and can be slightly larger font.
Use a consistent size for your images. Ensure they are of sufficient resolution. This is especially important for images with text in.
Create your own images, avoid copying from online. If you do, respect copyright and include a reference.
Taking pictures of images on the monitor using your smartphone is terrible practice and makes the report look amateurish. Use screen-shots.
If you take pictures of hardware, do it on a clear background (e.g. white paper) and clip as much as the background out as possible. Pictures of PCB’s on a messy lab bench look awful in a report!
Place images in between paragraphs. Do not embed them within paragraphs.
Write in the passive voice.
The multiplexer circuit was designed…

Do not write in the first person
I designed the multiplexer circuit…

Include page numbers and a table of contents.
Use consistent formatting. Do not jump between different fonts and font sizes within the body of the text (this usually happens when you cut-and-paste i.e. plagiarism!).
Write in full sentences. Avoid informal language.
The first time you use an abbreviation, you should include the expanded form e.g. SPI (Serial Peripheral Information).
Write clearly. I appreciate that English may not be your first language, but you are studying at an English-speaking University. If an explanation does not make sense, it detracts from the technical content.
For students who are registered with DSAS, your work is marked for content only.

Please you need to do the last WEEK#10 because i didn’t finish it , it will be next Tuesday our last lab of WEEK#10 , so you can do the experiment.

The introduction can take up a lot of room explaining what diversion programs are, their history and their legislative history, the difference and similarities between the federal and state Systems.

Hello,
Please use the outline I have put together as a guide to the idea and the flow of the paper. However, there is no need to adhere to the exact titles or structure.
The Paper should be about how Pretrial diversion programs work and should be adopted more widely in the federal system (especially as it pertains to youth). It should be 30 pages, and have approximately 30-40 sources. Citations should follow Bluebook guidelines. The paper should have an abstract, Table of Contents, and table of sources at the end (not included in the 30 pages).
The introduction can take up a lot of room explaining what diversion programs are, their history and their legislative history, the difference and similarities between the federal and state Systems. The focus should be on the federal System and the DC system. The next section should talk about some of the pros (Social, economic, etc.) and cons of the system. Then give examples of successful programs, and examples of issues with the program. The last section should be a discussion about the how on balance, the benefits of this system outweigh the issues and the cons the system presents. A high emphasis on giving people a true second chance to succeed with the right tools versus throwing them in jail or blemishing their record with a criminal charge. (The social injustice of how many of the people who suffer most from this are black young males who come from impoverished backgrounds).
The paper should include charts, graphs and of statistics (which will also help take up some space) that represent the overall success of the programs (at the federal, DC, or national level). This research is being used for a juris doctoral level paper, and as such, should be at a high level, and of course completely authentic.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you very much.

Briefly evaluate its international business-level strategy and international corporate-level strategy and make recommendations for improvement.

Choose two (2) public corporations in an industry with which you are familiar – one (1) that has acquired another company and operates internationally and one (1) that does not have a history of mergers and acquisitions and operates solely within the U.S. Research each company on its own Website, the public filings on the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database (http://www.sec.gov/edgar.shtml), in the University’s online databases, and any other sources you can find. The annual report will often provide insights that can help address some of these questions.

Write a six to eight (6-8) page paper in which you:

For the corporation that has acquired another company, merged with another company, or been acquired by another company, evaluate the strategy that led to the merger or acquisition to determine whether or not this merger or acquisition was a wise choice. Justify your opinion.
For the corporation that has not been involved in any mergers or acquisitions, identify one (1) company that would be a profitable candidate for the corporation to acquire or merge with and explain why this company would be a profitable target.
For the corporation that operates internationally, briefly evaluate its international business-level strategy and international corporate-level strategy and make recommendations for improvement.
For the corporation that does not operate internationally, propose one business-level strategy and one corporate-level strategy that you would suggest the corporation consider. Justify your proposals.
Use at least three (3) quality references. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not quality as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.

Discuss the possible sources of bias and inaccuracy whenever a person looks back on their past history.

Assignment 1: Retrospective Analysis of Persons

In this assignment, begin by taking a retrospective look at your life history, to discuss which aspects of your personality have remained consistent and which aspects of your personality have changed over time. Then, analyze the roles of nature and nurture in shaping your personality. Subsequently, discuss possible sources of inaccuracy and bias in any retrospective analysis. Finally, discuss the reasons why systematic scientific studies are considered more valuable than individual accounts.

Write a three to four (3-4) page paper in which you:

Reflect on your life history and discuss which aspects of your personality have changed over time and which aspects have stayed consistent.

Based on your retrospective analysis, describe the roles of nature and nurture in shaping your personality. Reflect on your justification for distinguishing between nature and nurture.

Discuss the possible sources of bias and inaccuracy whenever a person looks back on their past history. Be sure to discuss factors related to memory and factors related to cognition.

Describe why the science of psychology places more emphasis on results based on scientific studies than it does on personal experience and anecdotes.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

To keep this essay short and manageable, your only sources for your paper should be your own experience and the Webtext. For this reason, APA citations and references are not required for this assignment.

Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required page length.
