Your project execution plan (PEP) should set out as a minimum

What the project is aiming to a chieve;
Why it is important to a chieve it;
How the project will be undertaken.

These questions make up the Statem ent of Requirem ents (SOR) for the PEP report. You are required to develop a PEP report for submission to Birmingham City Council.

ASSIGNMENT BRIEF
As a government c onsultant, you are required to c ompile a PROJECT EXECUTION PLAN (PEP) for the £10bn urban renewal project. The plan should serve as the main c ommunic ation vehicle to ensure that everyone is aw are and knowledgea ble of project objectives and how they will be a c c omplished. The PEP report is worth 70% of the overall mark and is an individual report. You should not work with other students in the prepa ration of the report.
Brief project background
Big City Plan is essentially a hyper-ambitious, 20-year urba n renew al programme worth a bout
£10bn and explicitly designed to cement Birmingham’s status as the UK’s sec ond city. Like many British cities, Birmingham suffered gravely at the hands of post-w ar development and while some of the d ama ge has been reversed over the p ast dec a de, much of the city still la cks a strongly defined urba n chara cter or skyline. Moreover, for some the regeneration it has enjoyed of late, while signific ant, has not quite matched the relentless physic al and cultural resurgence of smaller arch rival Manchester. Birmingham c ouncil’s ambitious solution is to transform 800ha of the city centre by creating 1.5 million m2 of floor sp a ce, 65,000m2 of public spa ces, 28km of enhanced w alking and cycling routes, 5,000 homes, 50,000 jobs, enhancing 24-hour a ctivities and generating an a d ditional £2.1bn to the loc al ec onomy ea ch year.

The project has been split into two phases, the sec ond w as launched in 2010 and over the next few years will include the rebuilding of Birmingham New Street Station, the c ompletion of the new Birmingham Library (Europe’s largest), the creation of a city p ark, the expa nsion of the city’s Midland Metro system as well as several other c ommercial and public realm projects. While the Big City Plan master plan is not a statutory document, it does identify a civic vision for renew al that crucially establishes a clear framework for city-wide development. It therefore represents a ra dic al and heroic attempt to prescriptively orchestrate urba n planning on a massive sc ale and is a direct result of Birmingham’s municipa l a dministration falling under a single loc al authority (England ’s largest) c a pa ble of forging the c o-ordination and c onsensus that neither London’s semi-potent GLA nor its 33 fra ctious boroughs are c a pa ble of delivering.

Describing the organization that you have stated it and to apply the concepts and the techniques of the performance management system.

Following the project proposal I would like to have a complete project describing the organization that you have stated it and to apply the concepts and the techniques of the performance management system. In addition I would like to have an outline for the project describing each paragraph.
In addition please note that its very important to design a performance management system which includes data from the customer and state the responsibility of the person. in general any system is designed positively by its nature and its linked to clear objectives.

Describe the debate in your own words, and provide a justified and academically defended argument for one side or the other.

The list below includes some provocative discussions related to the events in the unit’s reading. You will choose one to write an essay, in a minimum of 2 pages, in which you will take a first-person perspective of the situation, describe the debate in your own words, and provide a justified and academically defended argument for one side or the other. The essay will need to reflect your understanding of the time to avoid being anachronistic, and your argument must relate to one of the viable outcomes from that time.

• As a multi-generational American citizen, in the wake of Pearl Harbor, do you support the internment of your Japanese neighbors?
• As an 18 year old, male high school senior, are you eager or fearful of going to war?
• As an 18 year old, female high school senior, are you eager or fearful of going into the wartime factories?
• Is the crisis in Europe something that the U.S. should join in; or should the U.S. remain isolated? (Use a perspective from no later than November 1941.)
• Is the possibility of ending the Depression reason enough to join the war? Whichever first-person topic above you select, you must consider the influence of the below factors and conditions which are relevant to all the topics and provide historical detail relevant to your topics:
• perceptions or impacts of limitations on and advocacy for civil rights,
• influence by propaganda or stereotypes,
• impacts of international events or crises, and
• impacts of economic conditions.

As this is a point of view essay, a modern perspective will not accurately address what the question is asking for. To complete this assignment, a minimum two (2) reputable sources must be used, cited, and referenced, only one of which can be an assigned or provided text or source; it is strongly suggested that the one selection is from the provided source book and used as research of the event and/or views of the time. Inappropriate resources, or failure to use resources that are available in CSU’s online library, can lead to deductions. All sources and their use must be appropriately identified per 6th edition APA format.

Briefly describe what the speaker said and how it changed your understanding of the possibilities and/or the challenges of managing public policy.

there are 7 journal entries
each one has its own topic
will upload the article related to the each journal
Each journal has reflect question ,answer the questions after reading the related article.
Each journal entry about two pages and citation at the end of each journal entry.
And some reflect question will relate to the policy focus, my policy focus is :police body camera.
1.Rational and Nonrational Decision-Making
Answer both of the questions below:

Explain briefly why multiple problems and multiple goals make it more likely that decisions will be made nonrationally rather than rationally. Give at least 2 different major reasons. (50%)
What are the multiple problems and multiple goals that affect the policy you have chosen to focus on? If you are doing a blog post for this question, please link to a source that discusses or describes a the multiple problems and/or multiple goals in your policy focus area and provide an image related to multiple problems and/or goals. (50%)
Decision Making and Leadership (Please read pages 135-153 (on decision making) and pages 158-160 (Case Study: The Swine Flu Fiasco) in Chapter 6 of Contemporary Public Administration by Palumbo and Maynard-Moody)

2.Group think
Answer all parts of the question:

Describe a situation related to your policy focus in which Groupthink or the Abilene Paradox occurs (30%). Identify at least 2 features of either Groupthink or the Abilene Paradox that are present and describe briefly how these features appear in this situation (40%). What remedy would you propose if you were managing the situation and why (30%)? If you are doing a blog post for this question, please link to a source that discusses or describes a group decision that exhibits features of Groupthink or Abilene Paradox in your policy focus area and provide an image related to either the group process or the outcome of such decisions in your policy focus area.

3.Cross-cultural communication
Describe the cultural iceberg. (20%) Provide examples of cultural differences that are easy to see and ones that are hard to see. (40%)

What cultural differences in the area of your policy focus could affect communication between policy makers and policy implementers or between policy makers and policy implementers and members of the public? (40%)

4.i already did that one so skip this one.

5.Motivating Changes in Behavior
What changes in behavior does your policy focus entail? (Please do not say that the legislators have to change the way they vote or the public needs to be more supportive. We are looking for specific changes in the behavior of the general public (e.g., wearing seatbelts, not littering, not drinking and driving, etc.) or in the behavior of specific groups (e.g., de-escalation training for police, registration of guns by gun-owners, etc.)). (20%)

Name two needs from Maslow’s hierarchy that you can use to motivate the change and how each of these needs could be used to promote the behavior change (e.g., Need: Esteem. An ad campaign can convince people to quit littering by relating littering behavior to “low-class” behavior.) For each need, explain briefly why the way of using it would be effective. (e.g., By relating littering to “low-class” behavior, the ad campaign implies that if you litter, other people will think you are “low-class” and will think less highly of you. Your need for external validation will encourage you to change your littering behavior.) (40% for each need)

6.Negotiating
Define the difference between positions and interests in interest-based or integrative negotiating (25%). Identify an issue that might be negotiated in your area of policy focus and at least two relevant groups with different positions (25%). (For example, in the example from Quincy, CA presented in class, the issue was the forest management policy and two of the groups were the timber company employees and the environmentalists.) Describe the positions and interests of the two groups in your policy focus (25%) and identify at least one option that would satisfy some interests of each party (25%).

7.Speaker Questions
Think about what the speaker had to say about his or her job as a public manager. Focus on something that inspired you or made you think differently about what public managers do to affect the way policies are implemented and, ultimately, the kind of world we live in.

Briefly describe what the speaker said and how it changed your understanding of the possibilities and/or the challenges of managing public policy.
How does your new understanding affect what you see as a challenge or a possibility in the area of your policy focus? The challenges and/or possibilities could be in the job of the public manager or could be in the content of the policy.

Discuss similarities and differences between you primary research and your secondary research.

This is a dissertation and I have attached a proposal for the writers benefit. The dissertation must be structured and have the following:

Abstract (approx. 300 words)
A one page summary outlining the background to the project, aims and objectives, methods and techniques, main findings and conclusions.

Contents
List chapter by chapter the contents of the dissertation including Appendices and Bibliography, followed by a list of illustrations, figure by figure. Each listed item should have a page reference number in the dissertation.

Chapter 1– Introduction (approx. 500 words)
This should include background information on the subject under research, including appropriate concepts, theories, ongoing debates and issues. There should be a statement of the problem, the research questions and hypothesis if appropriate. The background should lead naturally into a clear statement of Aims and Objectives.

Chapter 2 – Literature Review (approx. 2500 words)
This chapter should provide a critical analysis of the literature on the topic under consideration identifying key issues. The literature review should not be a list of books articles you have read. It may be organised into themes on the topic you are researching and can also include findings of previous research. While researching and writing up the literature review, you should refer to your Aims and Objectives.

Chapter 3 – Methodology (approx. 1200 words)
In this chapter you should explain the overall approach to your research, and how you have conducted your secondary and primary research. You should explain your choice of research method(s) and the technique(s) selected for gathering data. You must explain why your chosen method(s) and technique(s) were preferred to others, how information is to be collected and the sampling technique. You should also discuss bias, and how you intend to eliminate or to minimise it to produce valid, reliable results. If there are any ethical issues associated with your research discuss them here.

Chapter 4 – Findings: Results, Analysis and Discussion (approx. 2700 words)
Present the main findings of your research here in a complete, clear and helpful way. Material may be organized thematically with appropriate headings or linked directly to your objectives.

Data from your primary research should be presented in this section and analysed with critical commentary. Comment on the quality of the responses and the reliability/limitations of the findings. It may be appropriate to present data in tables or charts. For example data from a questionnaire survey may be presented in tables, bar charts or pie charts. Data from interviews may be displayed in charts, matrices or networks.

The findings should be discussed in detail and related to your aims and objectives and to the literature review. Discuss similarities and differences between you primary research and your secondary research. It is not appropriate to introduce new literature here. It is more about placing your findings in a wider context.

Chapter 5 – Conclusion and Recommendations (approx. 500 words)
The conclusion should provide a succinct summary of your investigation, emphasizing your findings and their relationship to your Aims and Objectives. Essentially, there should be nothing new in this chapter: no new data, no new information, no further analysis or argument. The only new material which might be appropriate are any recommendations you wish to make regarding modification to theory or further research, or for practitioners or organizations which may benefit from a knowledge of the outcomes of the study.

Chapter 6 – Evaluation and reflections (approx. 300 words)
This could be included in the previous chapter, if you wish. It is a reflective critique of the research, including an assessment of how effectively the investigation has addressed the Aims and Objectives and an evaluation of the research approaches used.

Reference List
A list of sources used, presented in the format of the Harvard system of referencing. List sources alphabetically by surname.

Appendices
Charts, tables, completed questionnaires, interview transcripts and other relevant information which is referred to in the project may be located here

A major activity for this course deals with cross-cultural awareness.

COURSE PAPER/CROSS CULTURAL AWARENESS ASSIGNMENT

A major activity for this course deals with cross-cultural awareness. The cross-cultural awareness project can be satisfied by working with persons in our country who represent different cultures. As described below, this will involve interviewing two persons using the knowledge gained in this and other courses, so the interviews are required to be current.

(1) Students, working as individuals, will explore Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions to study two non-Anglo countries. Students will speak/interact directly with a minimum of two people from each of the chosen countries. The expectation is that students would spend a minimum of at least five hours in direct contact with persons in each of the two countries and will provide a log of time spent in the appendix of the paper. Students are expected to explore relevant data (cultural, economical, political, and social issues) to assist them in better understanding the position these countries have in the global environment.

Students should use the Hofstede six-category framework in discussions with the interviewees. Explore each of the Hofstede categories with the interviewee and report on this discussion in the cross-cultural paper. It is recommended that the student read the Hofstede book early in the course so that the Hofstede framework will be well known before the interviews are conducted.

(2) Students are then required to write a ten page paper discussing the comparisons of countries/cultures as well as their personal insights from these interview experiences. Students are required to follow the APA6 manual guidelines for a title page, use one-inch margins, font (12 font), and citations. A reference page should be included with references following the approved APA6 format. A running head should be included. However, no abstract is required nor is a table of contents.

Formulating the evidence based practice question: A review of the frameworks. Evidence Based Library and Information Practice, 6(2), 75“80.

One of the most challenging aspects of EBP is to actually identify the answerable question.

Formulating a question that targets the goal of your research is a challenging but essential task. The question plays a crucial role in all other aspects of the research, including the determination of the research design and theoretical perspective to be applied, which data will be collected, and which tools will be used for analysis. It is therefore essential to take the time to ensure that the research question addresses what you actually want to study. Doing so will increase your likelihood of obtaining meaningful results.
In this first component of the Course Project, you formulate questions to address a particular nursing issue or problem. You use the PICOT model patient/population, intervention/issue, comparison, and outcome outlined in the Learning Resources to design your questions.
To prepare:
1, Review the article, Formulating the Evidence Based Practice Question: A Review of the Frameworks, found in the Learning Resources for this week. Focus on the PICOT model for guiding the development of research questions.
2, Review the section beginning on page 75 of the course text, titled, Developing and Refining Research Problems in the course text, which focuses on analyzing the feasibility of a research problem.
3, Reflect on an issue or problem that you have noticed in your nursing practice. Consider the significance of this issue or problem.
4, Generate at least five questions that relate to the issue which you have identified. Use the criteria in your course text to select one question that would be most appropriate in terms of significance, feasibility, and interest. Be prepared to explain your rationale.
5, Formulate a preliminary PICO question one that is answerable based on your analysis. What are the PICO variables (patient/population, intervention/issue, comparison, and outcome) for this question?
6, Using the PICOT variables that you determined for your question, develop a list of at least 10 keywords that could be used when conducting a literature search to investigate current research pertaining to the question.

My assignment instructions are below
To complete:
Write a 3- to 4-page paper that includes the following:
1, A summary of your area of interest, an identification of the problem that you have selected, and an explanation of the significance of this problem for nursing practice
2, The 5 questions you have generated and a description of how you analyzed them for feasibility
3, Your preliminary PICOT question and a description of each PICOT variable relevant to your question
4, At least 10 possible keywords that could be used when conducting a literature search for your PICOT question and a rationale for your selections

Research Paper-to be posted on Livetext

The science fiction genre reflects the contemporary morals and values of culture and society. Take a story, either a text (short story or novel) or a movie and research the elements of the story that justifies its inclusion in the genre of science fiction. If you have chosen a movie, please be sure to read the book that the movie is based upon so that you can intelligently comment upon the differences between the movie and the book, as we have done with Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.

What are the “speculative” elements? How closely related to current scientific understandings are the speculative elements? Make the logical connections for your reader. Analyze the story in order to identify the various other genres that contribute to the science fiction. Is there a romance, a coming of age story, a detective, or other genres? What are they, and what role do they play in the story?

If you are using a movie as one of your examples, be sure to include a visual rhetorical analysis of one of its scenes or shots considering the above textual concerns.

What are the cultural assumptions, fears, biases that inform the story’s main themes? Highlight the passages, shots, sequences that develop these concerns and explain how they work to move the story forward. How do these concerns reflect the contemporary concerns of culture and society? Finally, make your own conclusions as to the success of the narrative in representing the possible future or futures.

Explain the ways in which your thinking is being challenged and expanded.
you will: (1) make connections among what you have learned about our focal topics through readings and class discussions; (2) reflect on what the readings, class activities and discussions challenge you to question or think about; (3) explain the ways in which your thinking is being challenged and expanded; and (4) explain how what you have been learning makes you think about your own work experiences and areas of study. Students should use a combination of appropriate references to readings and personal reflections. These memos are a way to process the readings as well as to show me your thinking and your development.
