Describes some of the pitfalls of implementation, along with successful and future elements. Koppel, R., & Kreda, D. A. (2010).

Workflow analysis aims to determine workflow patterns that maximize the effective use of resources and minimize activities that do not add value. There are a variety of tools that can be used to analyze the workflow of processes and clarify potential avenues for eliminating waste. Flowcharts are a basic and commonly used workflow analysis method that can help highlight areas in need of streamlining.

In this Assignment, you select a common event that occurs regularly in your organization and create a flowchart representing the workflow. You analyze the process you have diagrammed and propose changes for improvement.

To prepare:

  • Identify a common, simple event that frequently occurs in your organization that you would like to evaluate.
  • Consider how you would design a flowchart to represent the current workflow.
  • Consider what metrics you would use to determine the effectiveness of the current workflow and identify areas of waste.

To complete:

Write a 3- to 5-page paper which includes the following:

  • Create a simple flowchart of the activity you selected. (Review the Sample Workflow of Answering a Telephone in an Office document found in this week’s Learning Resources for an example.)
  • Next, in your paper:

o   Explain the process you have diagrammed.

o   For each step or decision point in the process, identify the following:

  • Who does this step? (It can be several people.)
  • What technology is used?
  • What policies and rules are involved in determining how, when, why, or where the step is executed?
  • What information is needed for the execution of this step?

o   Describe the metric that is currently used to measure the soundness of the workflow. Is it effective?

o   Describe any areas where improvements could occur and propose changes that could bring about these improvements in the workflow.

o   Summarize why it is important to be aware of the flow of an activity.

  • Remember to include a cover page, introduction, and summary for your paper. APA format. Must include at least 3 course reading for references and 2 additional scholarly references

Explain each thoroughly with an eye on the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.

For this assignment, read the case study, “Sonance,”on pages 563-578 of your textbook. You will compile a comprehensive case study analysis based upon this case. This involves a critical review of the company and situation leading to the problem identification. From there, you will research the company, industry, and competition, leading to the identification of several viable alternatives, followed by the final recommendation. In summary, the format should include the following: Company/product overview: Introduce the company and product/services. Situation analysis: This will require an analysis of what is going on internally within the organization as well as externally. Think about the political/legal environment, economic, socio-cultural, and technological. Using the CSU Online Library, minimally research the industry and competitors. Problem: Identify the problem(s) that this company is having or will have in the near future. Alternatives: Formulate a minimum of three possible alternatives that could solve the problem stated above.

Explain each thoroughly with an eye on the advantages and disadvantages of each alternative. Recommendation: Examine the alternatives and select the best alternative for this company. Include your rationale for selecting this over the others and discuss the implementation process. Your comprehensive case analysis should be a minimum of six pages in length, double-spaced (not including the reference page and title page). The case analysis format should include the five sections described above using subheadings within the paper. References should include your textbook plus a minimum of two additional credible references. All sources used, including the textbook, must be referenced; paraphrased and quoted material must have accompanying citations, and cited per APA guidelines. Additional supplemental information on preparing a written case analysis can be found in the textbook on pages 687-702

Format the remaining text as the body of the research report. Indent the first line of each paragraph rather than use quadruple spacing between paragraphs.

  • Research Paper Citations:
  • Use your favorite search engine to search the Web for information on the APA guidelines for formatting a research report. Use the keywords APA Style and research paper format to conduct your search.
  • Look for information on the proper formatting for the following aspects of a research paper: paper size, margins, title page or first page of the report, line spacing, paragraph indentation, and page numbers. Also find information on proper formatting for citations and a works cited page. Print the information you find.
  • Using the information you learned, format this document as a research report.
  • Adjust the margins, set the line spacing, and add page numbers to the document in the format recommended by the APA. Use The Maori History of New Zealand as the title for your sample report, use your name as the author name, and use the name of the course you are enrolled in currently as well as the instructor’s name for that course. Make sure to format the title page exactly as the APA style dictates.
  • Format the remaining text as the body of the research report. Indent the first line of each paragraph rather than use quadruple spacing between paragraphs.
  • Create three sources, insert three citations in the document—a book, a journal article, and a Web site—and create a works cited page, following APA style. If necessary, edit the format of the citations and works cited page to conform to APA format. (Note: For this practice document, you are allowed to make up sources. Never make up sources for real research papers.)

What are some best practices that people should follow to dispose of HHW properly.

Now that you have a little information about how to negotiate, first discuss three concepts that interested you from the videos. Then describe a situation in which you recognized that you entered into a negotiation with another person. How did this go for you?

If it went well, describe the tactics you used that contributed to the success of the negotiation.

If it did not go well discuss the issues you now recognize that caused this outcome. Remember that negotiation should be a win-win situation.

Now go practice this skill and return later in the week to discuss the skills you learned by telling us about the situation, other than purchasing an automobile, the actual negotiation that took place, and how what you learned contributed to y
