iscusses the concept of the “veil of ignorance.” She defines it like this: “We imagine that each person behind the veil of ignorance does not know his or her gender, age, race, talents, wealth, and so on, in the real world.

In  chapter 1, Base discusses the concept of the “veil of ignorance.” She defines it like this: “We imagine that each person behind the veil of ignorance does not know his or her gender, age, race, talents, wealth, and so on, in the real world. Behind the veil of ignorance, we choose policies that would be fair for all, protecting the most vulnerable and least-advantaged members of society” (p.34). I agree with the concept of the veil of ignorance partially. I agree that when we choose a policy, we should try to look beyond ourselves. In other words, I should not just be thinking “what’s in it for me?” However, I don’t think all policies should be focused on the vulnerable and least-advantaged. Instead, we should focus on what policies are most helpful for society as a whole, and fair for all. If the policy is helpful for society as a whole, then everyone, including the least-advantaged, will benefit.

I want to need three different discussions on above question. It must be in your own words. All discussion should be five to six line.

What are the two required components of management’s report on internal control.

The Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) was signed into law on July 30, 2002. It is arguably the most significant corporate reform legislation since the Great Depression. Sarbanes-Oxley mandates requirements, including reporting on internal control over financial reporting. The newly created Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) has the responsibility of establishing standards applicable to audits of internal control over financial reporting.

Navigate to the PCAOB’s website (http://www.pcaobus.org/) to review the full text of SOX and answer the following questions.

  1. Section 404 of SOX requires a public company’s annual report to include an internal control report. What are the two required components of management’s report on internal control?
  2. What obligation does a public company’s independent auditor have relating to internal control over

Identify at least three barriers that impede an organization’s ability to adopt innovative practices and processes.

elivering on a value proposition demands constant improvement and innovation as competition changes over time along with evolving customers’ needs and wants. How an organization delivers is not only dependent on its ability to serve the market but also on how well it adapts and overcomes the challenges of its own structure, culture, incentives, and design. However, an organization may face many barriers that hinder its ability to overcome these challenges.

Using the module readings, ABC University online library resources, and the Internet, research operational barriers. Based on your research, address the following:

  • What tools might an organization use to help identify barriers?
  • Identify at least three barriers that impede an organization’s ability to adopt innovative practices and processes.
  • Identify at least one organization that faced these barriers, describe the approach used to address these barriers, and explain whether it was successful or unsuccessful.
  • Explain what you would you have done differently to overcome these barriers.

Write a 3–5-page paper in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Use the following file naming convention: LastnameFirstInitial_M1_A3.doc.

Analyze the program of your choice, using the PERC program evaluation tool.

Read and respond in a discussion post to the scenario below. Upon receiving your response document, your instructor will respond with feedback.

Case Study # 1: College Preparatory Program

A high school student with a significant learning disability and cognitive challenges wants to attend college preparatory programs. She is very upset and does not think that she is getting the services that were promised. Although the parents are also upset, they are concerned about the challenges this goal may present to their child. The special education teacher has contacted you for suggestions and assistance with the issue.

Questions:

  1. How will you assist the teacher?
  2. What could you do to help the student face the realities of college preparatory programs?
  3. How could you utilize the awareness of the parents to assist you with this challenge?

Be sure to include the following in your response.

  • An APA-format cover page.
  • The response will be 3-5 paragraphs in length.
  • Address all three questions.
  • Include a minimum of 3 reference citations (you may use your text).

2)   Field Experiences Option:

If you have chosen the field experience option, by this time, you should have obtained the appropriate permissions to visit local schools.

An Observation/Permission Format has been provided for you, if needed, on the Books and Resources page.

Once you have obtained permission to visit schools in your district, contact principals to plan your scheduled visits. Think about how you will document these visits or obtain the needed forms for this purpose. Remember that the interviews may also be conducted via electronic means.

Postsecondary Education Research Center Assignment:

One of the outcomes from passage of the 2008 Higher Education Opportunities Act was to encourage programs in which students with cognitive or developmental disabilities who are between the ages of 18 and 21 may experience their transition years of public school in postsecondary settings. To assess subsequent programming, a Research and Innovation project under the auspices of the Office of Special Education launched the Postsecondary Education Research Center (PERC) project. A 10-section Likert scale assessment instrument was developed as one aspect of the project.

Read the required on-line journal article for this week’s assignment for a description of this project and related on-line links. Access the assessment instrument at the following: PERC Postsecondary Program Evaluation Tool: A Self-Assessment for College and Community-Based Services.

  1. Select a transition program currently used by a district with which you are familiar that includes a post-secondary option.
  2. Analyze the program of your choice, using the PERC program evaluation tool.
  3. Prepare a transition services profile that includes the following:
  • A description of the program being reviewed (use pseudonyms).
  • Likert-scale ranking of the selected program in each of the 10 areas. (You are encouraged to download the actual instrument for this component of the assignment.)
  • A summary of the results pertinent to the program being assessed that includes areas of strength, areas of improvement, and what PERC-based revisions you would recommend, if you were serving as a consultant to the district and had been asked to evaluate the program currently in place.

Be sure to include the following in your transition services exploration:

  • An APA-format cover page.
  • The paper will be 5-7 double-spaced pages in length, using 12-point Times New Roman font. The cover page and reference list are not included in this page count.
  • Address all 3 components.
  • Include a minimum of 5 reference citations (you may use your text).

Your finished program transition services exploration should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your paper should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards

Explain the wide discrepancy between these rates.

Look at the Focus on Ethics box (“How Fair Is Check Into Cash”) in Chapter 5 of the textbook. These, businesses quote an interest rate of 15% to loan customers (most of whom are fairly unsophisticated) and yet the EAR of the loan is close to 400%. Explain the wide discrepancy between these rates. What do you believe is the correct regulatory response to these types of lenders?
