Identify which type of list is currently being used.

1:  In your own words, explain the box model and the difference between the “padding” and “margin” properties.

2:What is the benefit of using a fixed-width layout in web design? What are some cons?

3:Discuss a web page that uses one or more lists. List the web page’s link. Identify which type of list is currently being used. Imagine that this is your company’s web page and your manager wants you to select a different type of list for this content. To what type of list would you change it? What would you need to change about the content for the new type to be effective for the list’s purpose?

4:I’m a huge blogger, and a huge fan of the television show Once Upon a Time. I do not want to be offensive in criticizing anyone’s work because I know from my own stand point on how long it takes to design something, how long it takes to maintain a blog, and sometimes paying someone to do a tumblr layout can bite the big one especially if you have to pay a huge price for it. First of all I chose this Captain Swan blog. Captain Swan is a ship, or a canon couple from the show Once Upon a Time. I edit for a lot of people that love this show. Anyhow, I came upon this blog and I love the blog and the layout but there is some things she could do to enhance the blog. First of all I would take the Christmas layout off of it and go with something more flavorful such as something more Captain Swan maintained. I would then add a navigation system besides the one they have there on the right. Those would be just a few that they could use to enhance their site and make it more navigating.

5:It’s important to organize folders for a website because you may not be the only one maintaining the site. Each folder should be easy to find and use so that whoever is using it will have no problem. Before you start designing a website you should give a lot of thought to the organization of the files and folders of your website. For my folder structure I would use the following folders like CSS, img, JS(JavaScript), and robots. relative links are more flexible because the entire directory structure can be moved to another domain without breaking all the links.

An absolute link would look like this <a href=”http://www.navegabem.com/index.html”>Home</a>.

A relative link will look like this:

<a href=”/index.html”>Home</a>.

6:The business website that I selected to use in my discussion is http://www.gatesnfences.com/. I have seen some bad designs in the past, but this one by far is the worst. The page layout is awful, some of the text on the page is to small to read, information is scattered throughout the whole page, and the images aren’t as clear as they should be. I recommend that the images are changed to JPG, GIF, or PNG for a clearer picture. Another big problem I saw was the web pages loaded with information to read, there were paragraphs after paragraphs. I counted navigation 65 tabs on the side bar alone! Then add in all the links through out the page, it was definitely an overwhelming page. With so many pages in the site, the information should be spread around to all the different products and services they offer and not crammed in on one page. Every link that I clicked was connected to several other links which made it difficult for me to find what I was looking for, and eventually I ended up leaving the site. The navigation was just as bad as the page layout, I left the site because I became confused as soon as I entered the site. I recommend that majority of the information should be deleted, and summed up into small paragraphs with important information that the users need to know.

Focusing solely on savings, create an example to see how much money that will provide in retirement.

Focusing solely on savings, create an example to see how much money that will provide in retirement.  There are two ways to do this: using “actual” dollars or “today’s” dollars.  Using actual dollars and nominal investement and savings rates is fine, but such an analysis might show that you can have a large amount of savings in retirement in nominal terms but in “real” after inflation terms it is really not that much at all.

I prefer using “today’s”.  That way the results are easier to interpret and  the only thing you  need to change is to ensure your investment rate is a “real” rate – subtracting out inflation.  So if you think you can get a nominal rate of return of 6% on your retirement savings over, say, thirty years, you might only get 2% after inflation.ere is an example of retirement.

Task:  Provided is a simple example below and also on the attached worksheet that shows how much savings will accumulate to as of the retirement date and how much that nest egg could provide as an annuity over  a person’s remaining life.  PROVIDE your own or hypothetical example and see what you get.  Use the excel worksheet provided (an attach it) or a financial calculator or use formulas.  Summarize your results

Example:

A person makes a stable income of $100,000/year every year and saves 10% ($10,000/year) which is invested at a real (after inflation) rate of 3% in order to retire in 30 years.  At retirement time will have a nest egg of about $475K. (FV = ?  PV =  0, PMT =  -10K, I/Y = 3, n=30 or =FV(3,30,-10K)

If this person wants the money to last 30 additional years (retirement period), he/she can withdraw a maximum of $28K annually (PMT = ?, PV = $475K (or $560K), n=30, fv = 0 and I/Y = 3 or =PMT(3,30,

On the attachment is an EXCEL worksheet showing a different example.  Make up your own.  Discuss the results.

Here it is using EXCEL:   If you save  $A per year for N years and earn I interest (in decimals) or return on your money you will have accumulated             =FV(I, N,A)

Then if you want to see the maximum fixed amount you can withdraw each year for N years given the FV amount above and earning I return on your money, the amount is        =PMT(I,N,0,FV).

Of course in both calculations either FV or the other amount must be negative, but you can interpret the

Explain how thought-focused treatment systems are inherently different from psychoanalytical/psychodynamic approaches in treating psychological dysfunctions.

After reading Chapters 7 and 8 in McCarthy & Archer (2013) and performing additional research on your own, write a 4-6 page reaction paper in which you discuss the following:

  1. Explain how thought-focused treatment systems are inherently different from psychoanalytical/psychodynamic approaches in treating psychological dysfunctions.
  2. In REBT, “rational” means that which helps people to achieve their basic goals and purposes. Therefore, irrational beliefs are those that interfere with goals. Do a web search and find the eleven or twelve irrational beliefs (called “IB’s”) used by REBT therapists. Choose two of them and provide an example for each.
  3. Cognitive therapy is directed at common cognitive distortions, or faulty thought patterns. These send us into depression. Examine the list of cognitive distortions based on Aaron Beck’s work. Choose two and provide an example for each.
  4. Explain briefly the terms “shaping” and “token economies” used in behavioral based therapies and give an example for each.
