Identify any environmental stressors that are related to the environmental risk.

Resource: Ch. 2 of Environmental Psychology, University Library, and peer-reviewed journals

Assigne environmental risk, PERSONAL SPACE , research two articles from peer-reviewed journals that have different perceptions of the level of risk (i.e., low, high).

  • Prepare a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper based on your chosen articles. Bullet each section. Provide a summary of each article. Compare and contrast the risk perceptions presented in each article. Identify any environmental stressors that are related to the environmental risk. Conclude with a discussion of your own risk perception of the issue. Explain your stance and be sure to cite appropriate sources. This sho

Discuss the differences between a strong and a weak matrix organization.

Many project today operate within some sort of a matrix organization. Discuss the differences between a strong and a weak matrix organization.

Discuss the pros and cons of a matrix organization for project management. As a project manager, what types of things would you need to do well in order for your project to work within a matrix organization? Justify your responses.

Determine at least three (3) qualitative factors that affect the auditor’s judgment.

ccording to the text, auditors have to make judgments concerning materiality on every audit. Since the auditing standards give no formal guidance for how to determine materiality, auditors must rely on their own experience. Determine at least three (3) qualitative factors that affect the auditor’s judgment. Provide a rationale for your response.

  • According to the text, auditors rely on the audit risk formula to determine the types and amount of audit evidence to collect in order to keep the overall audit risk of engagements to a minimum or below defined tolerable limits. Suggest an alternative to the audit risk equation in order to mitigate audit risk. Support yo

Describe how you will implement the process in the company (make any necessary reasonable assumptions you need with the scenario, such as company organization or structure).

After all your production planning analysis, you have been asked to prepare a Quality Management Planning Strategy for management and employees.

Using course materials and other resources, develop a strategy document with the following action items:

  • Identify the overall Quality Management Process (TQM, ISO 9000, Six Sigma) the company will use, and explain the rationale for such change. Be aware of industry requirements (i.e. service operations are different from manufacturing, and each process may offer specific advantages for a specific industry). Describe how you will implement the process in the company (make any necessary reasonable assumptions you need with the scenario, such as company organization or structure).
  • Once you identify and explain the process, outline the specific tools and techniques the company will use for quality management. Consider the usefulness of all the charting and statistical quality metric techniques and identify which ones it should use.
  • Develop a communications memorandum to the factory workers announcing these changes and explaining the value of them. Remember, quality management principles all focus on employee involvement and continuous improvement.

Identify a Learning Pattern and describe how you could have or did use the Pattern intentionally in this class.

This discussion is asking you to do five things:

  • Explain two things the assigned learner could have done to FIT his or her Learning Patterns.
  • Identify a Learning Pattern and describe how you could have or did use the Pattern intentionally in this class.
  • Explain what you could have done or what you did do to FIT the identified Pattern to be successful.
  • List your LCI scores.
  • Respond to at least two of your classmates’ discussion posts. Use Respond to Peersto assist you with your reply.

Nia is also a nontraditional student who has just entered the world of college studies online. But unlike Dan andCassie, her life is not encumbered with family. Currently, she is transitioning from 10 years in the military (threedeployments) to civilian life. She has wasted no time finding employment while she pursues her college degree.

Nia is a “can-do” person whose service years have been devoted to military personnel administration, primarilypayroll. She sees herself as a multitasker—someone with a number of balls in the air at all times. She is quick onher feet, straightforward, and deliberate. You always know where you stand when you work with Nia. Some woulddescribe her as a force to be reckoned with.

Tonight, with her study schedule in hand, she sits at her newly purchased desk in front of her state-of-the artcomputer, which is loaded with the latest software. She has the same assignment to complete as Dan and Cassie,and the same deadline looming. Like them, she finds the directions for the assignment unclear. But unlike them,she is driven. Just because the instructor has not made the assignment clear is no reason for Nia to be concerned.She decides that she will clarify the assignment for herself and then proceed.

She begins by skimming the assigned materials and drawing her own conclusions about the points the readingsmake. She then reads the directions for the assignment, and while she is as uncertain as Dan and Cassie as towhat to include in a “critical analysis,” she unhesitatingly starts and completes her response. She is not concernedthat she has not read the feedback on her most recent assignment. She is certain she has met the instructor’sexpectations. Besides, she wants to look forward, not backward. She is committed to working her way through thecourse sessions as fast as possible. Nia is a woman on a mission with a clear goal in mind: first the diploma, thena career in human resource management.

Nia completes her assignment quickly andwithout hesitation, but that does not meanthat she fully understands the assignment orcompletes it correctly. What kind of learner isNia?

She completes the assignment in less than an hour, and moves on tochecking her social media sites. When she finishes her updates, shereturns to her class work, and, even though the instructor’s directionssuggest that students re-read their work and double check it forsufficient content, use of three references, clarity of thought, andpunctuation and grammar, Nia chooses to post her work withoutreviewing or revising it. After all, she knows what she wrote and knowsit’s brilliant!

The assignment calls for her to do a critical analysis of one of the pointsraised in the readings and to support her analysis using three sources.Nia’s interpretation of this, however, is to state her opinion of the article,and she does just that. Never one to use her own words whensomeone else can say it better, Nia uses passages from the readings,but she does not credit or use quotation marks for them. Nia’s learningproblem is not self-doubt. Her problem as a learner is her ill-placedconfidence in her work. She confuses confidence with competence.

Nia as a Learner

Nia does not suffer from a lack of self-confidence as a learner, but a lack of being intentional. Throughout her yearsin school and in her military service, Nia was an overachiever striving for recognition and affirmation—which othersdid not offer because she had not earned it. When she doesn’t receive the recognition she feels she deserves, sheblocks out the feedback of others and replaces it with her own message of “a job well done.”

As a result, Nia frustrates her teachers and alienates her co-workers. Why? Because she does not face herself asa learner. Nia chooses not to be self-reflective and not to learn from others’ feedback on her performance. Shecloaks herself in self-assurance and denies what others have to offer her; this stops her from developing herabilities and skills.

Are You Nia?

Nia (S33, P32, TR22, C27)

    • Is strong-willed.
    • Operates as her own team.
    • Lets her sense of self convince her that she:
        • can submit work that is off-track from the actual assignment.

        • can ignore feedback.

        • will learn nothing from feedback.

    • Accepts no feedback, mentoring, guidance, or help when it comes to learning; she:
        • argues, rather than listens to, comments and suggestions.

        • has little respect for others’ opinions.

Discuss how each of the six qualitative field research paradigms (discussed in this week’s Lesson and covered more comprehensively in Babbie’s Chapter 10) could be used to study this topic you have chosen.

swer each bullet point):

  • Identify a sociological topic of interest to you.
  • Discuss how each of the six qualitative field research paradigms (discussed in this week’s Lesson and covered more comprehensively in Babbie’s Chapter 10) could be used to study this topic you have chosen.
  • How does the role of the researcher vary across each paradigm?
  • Are some paradigms better suited for certain topics – provide an example?
  • Which paradigm(s) raise the biggest ethical concerns and why?

Explain the advantages and disadvantages of EOQ in a Word document not to exceed 200 words.

nalyze the following scenario: Meals for the Homeless buys 30,000 large cans of green beans each year.  The cost of each can of beans is $4.  The cost to place an order for beans, including the time of the employee placing the order, shipping, and so forth, comes to $20 per order.  The out-of-pocket carrying costs (for storage, etc.) are $0.30 per can per year.  In addition, Meals calculates its interest at 5 percent.  How many cans should be ordered at a time?  How many orders should there be each year?  What are the total ordering costs and carrying costs at the EOQ?  Contrast the total of the ordering costs and carrying costs at EOQ to the total ordering and carrying costs if the cans were all ordered at the beginning of the year.  (You will need to read and understand Appendix 7-A to complete this discussion).  Clearly label the calculations of the economic order quantity using Excel (you may attach your Excel worksheet to your discussion post in your online classroom).  Use formulas to calculate the EOQ and format the cells to insert a comma if there is more than three numbers.  Round to the nearest whole number.  Explain the advantages and disadvantages of EOQ in a Word document not to exceed 200 words.  You must respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings to receive full credit.

Explain your position, pro or con, including any limits you would place on the categories of gifted and talent that would be served.

‘gifted students are truly our forgotten children. Neglected in our schools and ignored by our policymakers, they spend their days dozing through classes in which they aren’t learning’ ” (Heward, 2009, p. 501). Many families and educators believe that children who are gifted and talented are not being adequately identified and served in many public schools today. There are no broad federal mandates, backed by government funding, that require every state to provide students identified as gifted and talented with services for their unique needs. There are few efforts to identify and meet the needs of children who possibly fall under one of the categories you have already studied and who are also gifted and talented.

Review Chapter 13 on pages 492–509 in your course textfor definitions of giftedness and talent and background information on the challenges for students and schools. Also review the article “Federal Law Drains Resources for the Gifted,” which provides valuable insights as to the attitudes prevalent in education today.

Consider the following:

  • What you have learned about children who are gifted and talented
  • What are the special needs of young children who are gifted and talented? What are the special needs of older children?
  • What are arguments for doing more to support children who are gifted and talented?
  • What are arguments against using public money for gifted programs?
  • What are the risks for these children when a school program does not meet their needs?

By Day 3:

Based on the material that you have read and with your thoughts in mind. Post the following:

  • Which, if any, of the definitions of gifted and talented should be added to IDEA as categories of special needs, and why.
  • Explain your position, pro or con, including any limits you would place on the categories of gifted and talent that would be served. Cite references from the reading to support your views.
