Write a research paper explaining what a SWOT analysis’s opportunities, threats, weaknesses, and strengths are.
In the readings for this week there are reocurring themes around inclusivity in the workplace through theories/practices that center both commonality and difference. Regardless of how these theories and practices are presented, the end goal for each of these authors is diverse practice in technical communication (particularly, practice(s) that forward/support socially just work environments). For example, Miller (2020) revisits conversations that merge composition studies and tech comm, revealing that the understanding and teaching of rhetoric is what undergirds/bridges the two fields (also noting that rhetoric is what makes room for technical communicators to better apply humanistic/ethical efforts in related theories and practice). Moore, Jones, and Walton’s (2021) piece expands on their previous work on the 4Rs (recognize, reveal, rejecting, and replacing) and applies it to real-world contexts. This research reveals that a centering of lived experience and story lays the groundwork for TPC practitioners to more adequately approach the work of the 4R heuristic.
For this week’s discussion board, think about your current workplaces/work cultures (or perhaps even workplaces/work cultures you’ve been part of in the past). What kinds of issues around inclusivity, accessibility, disability, etc. were apparent (or perhaps weren’t so apparent but were still present)? After engaging with the readings for this week, what theories/heuristics/practices felt most helpful in approaching those identified issues? What kinds of change would you like to see and how might you as a technical communicator envision yourself—and those around you—working towards bettering the issue at hand?
Your contributions should actively engage at least three (3) of the articles assigned for this week.
Download the document Week 5 Assessment Tools [DOCX] Download Week 5 Assessment Tools [DOCX], and read about the three assessment tools: the DiSC assessment, the Cognitive Criteria Aptitude Test (CCAT), and the Emotional Intelligence Appraisal.
Read each hiring scenario (these are also included in the document):
Scenario 1: Your human resources department needs to hire a new Employee Relations Manager (ERM). This person’s job is to manage conflict and workplace issues between managers and employees across three separate departments. The ERM must be able to handle disgruntled employees and managers with compassion, discretion, and professionalism in situations where tempers may run high.
Scenario 2: You need one more person on a team you’re putting together to launch a new tech startup business. You want to make sure this person’s personality balances out with the others you’ve already hired. Specifically, you’re looking for someone enthusiastic and outgoing but also detail-oriented and focused.
Scenario 3: You’re hiring a new financial analyst for your organization. This position needs an individual with strong problem-solving and reasoning skills as well as in-depth mathematical abilities.
For each scenario, compare the three assessment tools, and decide which one would be the most effective in evaluating a candidate for the position. Write an answer for each scenario in one well-developed paragraph in which you identify the most effective tool and explain why it is more appropriate than the other tools.
Write a research paper about how to create and launch a health assessment using the principles of population health management.
Whether you have experience working with matters related to population health or this course represents your introduction to the concept, you must know how to bring the elements of a community health assessment (CHA) and community health improvement planning (CHIP) together into a logical and organized whole. While you will not be creating a comprehensive health assessment for this summative assignment, it is valuable to demonstrate your ability to formulate and initiate one (comprehensive health assessment ) by engaging with some of the steps outlined in the Association for Community Health Improvement CHA Toolkit.
Using Step #3 Develop a community profile
~Define your demographic, the geography, catchment area
Using Step #5 prioritize the need,
~Define at least two areas of need, i.e. is it a chronic disease with a lack of transportation?
Using Step #2 build you team
~Find community stakeholders, build trusting relationships

Once a criminal justice professional has completed a program or policy evaluation, they may identify a problem that needs to be addressed. They will need to apply problem-solving skills to address it, and there are many problem-solving methods a criminal justice professional can choose from. Consistently selecting the appropriate strategy for a problem will not only improve program and policy outcomes, but also improve operations management overall.
In this assessment, you will analyze the intersection of problem-solving and policy evaluation, while also addressing ethical considerations.
Preparation
Research problem-solving models and consider how you could use these models to evaluate criminal justice issues or programs.
Select a local, state, or federal criminal justice policy and research it. This could be the policy you researched and analyzed in Weeks 1–3 or select a different policy of your choice. Potential topics include:
Stand your ground policy/castle doctrine
Registries for individuals who have committed sexual offenses
No bail policy/bail reform
Plea bargaining
Three-strikes policies
Counterterrorism policies
Note: Speak with your faculty member if you need assistance selecting a policy for this assessment.
Assessment Deliverable
Create a 12- to 15-slide presentation in which you explain how your selected problem-solving model can be applied to evaluating a criminal justice policy. This presentation will be included in a workshop for new hires who will be evaluating criminal justice policies and programs.
Address the following in your presentation:
Explain the value of evaluating criminal justice policies.
Summarize the criminal justice policy selected.
Specify whether the policy is applicable in local, state, or federal contexts.
Include relevant details about the criminal justice policy’s purpose and its relevance to contemporary criminal justice issues.
Analyze the ethical considerations regarding the policy. Include relevant details about:
The advantages and challenges of the policy
The public perception toward the policy
The success of the policy in curbing criminal offenses
Any unintended outcomes or consequences of the policy
A problem or issue with the policy that needs a resolution
Summarize the problem-solving model you selected for evaluation. Consider reviewing the problem-solving resources in the Assessment Support section.
Explain how the problem-solving model can be used to evaluate and/or address ethical concerns related to the policy.
Describe the process and intended outcomes of applying the problem-solving model to resolve the identified policy issue.
Include speaker notes with your presentation.
Cite 2 scholarly sources, in addition to the textbook.
Format your citations and references according to APA guidelines.

Test Blue Print: Physical Examination: General Survey, Vital Signs, and Pain
The purpose of this test is to prepare pre-licensure BSN students to meet competency standards related to physical examination. It includes assessing the patient’s vital signs, pain level, and general survey. A basic understanding of normal and abnormal vital signs, pain levels, and normal and abnormal physical assessments will be assessed. The test consists of fifteen questions and will test the student’s knowledge, comprehension, and application to basic patient assessment.
The test questions will vary in difficulty based on the type of questions, and material. Since NCLEX utilizes multiple-choice, list-in-order, and case study questions, this test will aim to provide varying types of question formats as well (Oermann & Gaberson, 2021). All questions will be objective without utilizing an essay question format (Oermann & Gaberson, 2021). The difficulty level for this test will be based on the type of question but should be between .30 and .70. The discrimination index should be above .20.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this test students will:
1, Identify normal and abnormal vital sign readings. (Remembering)
Differentiate between inspection, auscultation, percussion, and palpitation evaluation methods and utilize them in the correct order. (Understanding)
Apply pain scales to patient assessments as the fifth vital sign. (Applying)
Compare and Contrast general survey assessments as normal or abnormal. (Analyzing).
Learning objectives will span the cognitive domain from lower levels of basic knowledge to the application of that knowledge in analyzing case studies (Oermann & Gaberson, 2021).

In the healthcare setting, a nurse routinely auscultates a client’s lung sounds to determine the patient’s ventilation status and if any complications are present.
True
False
Conducting airways are a conduit of airflow that “conditions” inspired air we breathe. And lung airway structures are where gas-exchange happens within the lungs. Both are important parts of our respiratory system and are compiled of many different underlying structures.
Directions: For each group you must match the underlying structure for that category (Conducting or Lung). Drag each underlying structure into its respective category as it pertains to the respiratory system.
Items:
Alveoli
Bronchi
Bronchioles
Larynx
Lobules
Mouth
Nasal Passages
Pharynx
Trachea
During the respiratory assessment the nurse notices the client is having some shortness-of-breath. After auscultating the lung sounds, the nurse notices some high-pitched, musical sounds coming from the left lower lobe. This sound is primarily heard during expiration. Based on these findings, which abnormal breath sound is being described?
Wheeze
Crackles-coarse
Pleural Friction Rub
Crackles-fine
Select All that Apply:
From the list below choose which items are considered Objective Health Data.
Wheezing in the lower lobes
History of COPD
Cyanosis of the lips
Oxygen saturation of 90%

Family History of lung cancer
You are taking care of a client who was recently diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder). This client is getting ready to discharge, as the nurse what is the MOST important education you should make sure this patient receives?
Smoking cessation will slow the progression of this disease.
Immunizations against respiratory infections will decrease your likelihood of contracting life-threatening infections.
You should not include breathing exercises into your daily regimen.
Oxygen therapy may be prescribed if your condition worsens.
You are a new graduate nurse in the Critical Care Unit. You have a client with End-Stage COPD who has been admitted with dyspnea, increased respirations, wheezing, and pleuritic chest pain. During your morning assessment you notice that the patient’s oxygen saturations are at 88%, and he is on 6L via nasal cannula. You also notice that the patient’s work of breathing has increased, and his respirations are now 24 bpm. After reviewing the subjective and objective data, what would be your next nursing intervention?
Increase the patient’s oxygen.
Call the doctor for further instructions.
Come back in 30minutes to reassess.
Instruct the patient to turn, cough, and deep breathe.
During your respiratory assessment it is important to include all aspects of the assessment. This includes auscultation, percussion, palpation, and inspection. While palpating your patient’s posterior thorax, you must test the patient’s chest expansion. At what level on the back does the nurse need to place their hands to examine chest expansion?
You have a client on your floor that has become increasingly short-of-breath, they have a Temperature of 101.3, and they have a productive cough. You were able to obtain a sputum culture for this patient. During auscultation you notice some coarse crackles in the lower lobes. Upon further investigation you remember this patient has a history of COPD. Based on these new symptoms, what could be this patient’s diagnoses?
Asthma
Tuberculosis
Pneumonia
Cancer

A client is admitted to your floor for difficulty breathing. When the client arrives, he seems to be uncomfortable, and you notice he is wearing oxygen. After further review, you ask the patient “Do you wear oxygen at home?”
This question is an example of obtaining what kind of health data?
Subjective Health Data
Objective Health Data
A 20-year-old male has been admitted to the trauma unit related to a car accident. During the accident the client obtained a concussion, left tibia fracture, broken nose, broken ribs, and a punctured right lung. During your shift assessment at 0800 you find the client’s oxygen saturation at 98% on 2L via nasal cannula, his respiratory rate at 20, his heart rate at 80bpm, his Temp is 98.1, and his BP is 130/86. He does complain of a pain scale of 5/10 related to his chest tube in the right lung. You make sure to assess the tube site and it is free of drainage, the tube is secured, the dressing is occlusive, and the tubing is free from kinks. During auscultation you notice both lungs are clear. You give the patient some Dilaudid 1mg for the pain and come back to re-assess in 30 minutes.
0830 You go back to your client’s room to find him in extreme distress. His respirations are 30bpm, HR is 120, oxygen saturation is now at 85%, and his BP is 100/65. Upon further assessment you notice he has a tracheal deviation, and on auscultation his right lung sounds are absent.
What is your next nursing intervention based on the information above?
Obtain a chest x-ray.
Assess the chest tube for kinks.
Prepare for a thoracentesis.
