Part 1: Definition and Scope For the first part of this assignment provide a discussion on GPS and GIS, that first, defines the technologies and second, describes how they are currently being used by law enforcement. The list is quite long, such as tracking patrol cars, providing location while patrolling, having a incarcerated individual where a tracking bracelet. Each of these utilizes the GPS for location and the GIS for providing a visual display of the location. You can use these examples but must add at least an additional 6 or 7 more uses (a total of 8 to 10).Part 2: Future Possibilities This is where this assignment gets interesting. For this second part of the assignment, provide a discussion on a cutting-edge idea or proposal where GPS/GIS technology is being used with law enforcement. This can be a technology being used by another sector like the military but might serve well in law enforcement. Consider Remote Pilot Ariel Systems (RPAS) or drones and how they might work in this fold. Perhaps you have an idea of your own. Here is an opportunity to showcase it and perhaps be the start of your final capstone project for the program. While working through this assignment consider the following:

1. Provide definitions for both GPS and GIS and discuss how the two technologies are complimentary.
