English 106: Self-Reflection

For your final essay in this course, you will write a reflection on your writing process.  The purpose of this essay is to provide all of us with a backward glance at the semester that is quickly approaching an end and to offer you an opportunity to share your personal story of development.  While I encourage you to consider previous writing experiences, you should focus primarily on the last three months and on your experience in this course.

Grade: 10% of final course grade

 

Requirements:

–3 pages

–must address your personal development as a writer and reader in this course during this semester

–must have a clear and well-developed thesis, topic sentences, and paragraphs

–must follow the English 106 Papers handout for the course

Objectives for this assignment:

–to focus on critically evaluating your individual writing process and how you have improved your written and oral communication skills

–to continue to develop a sense of who you are as a writer and your personal tone, style, and voice

–to continue to develop your sense of confidence in your writing and your written communication skills

–to produce a final draft that includes consistent and correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and usage

–to demonstrate the ability to write well organized and well developed body paragraphs
