This assignment requires that you use course readings and research outside of the course. You are to write a Research/Argumentative essay on the following topic:
How has computer mediated communication, like in the use of Twitter, Skype, Face-time, Facebook and other forms of social media, indirectly and/or directly affected interpersonal and intercultural communication.
What you are in essence aiming to fulfill is to use the concepts we have discussed and learned in class, as well as through your observational assignments, to come up with an original thesis statement based on the prompt above that you are going to argue throughout your 8 to 10 page final paper. According to Weida and Stolley, “[a]n argumentative or persuasive piece of writing must begin with a debatable thesis or claim. In other words, the thesis must be something that people could reasonably have differing opinions on. If your thesis is something that is generally agreed upon or accepted as fact then there is no reason to try to persuade people” (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/). To come up with your original thesis argument you are going to have to use what we learned in class and research outside class to come up with your original idea.
Once you have created and edited your argumentative thesis statement, you are then going to have to research how you are going to argue your thesis statement throughout the rest of your paper. You will have to determine what subtopics you think are most important and related to your thesis that you can use to argue or prove you thesis stemement i.e. non-verbal communication, perception, self-identity etc… While you are arguing your theis stement through your subtopics you must remember to use examples to illustrate and support your claims.
After statement your main thesis statement and arguing your claim through your subtopics you will then end your paper by rounding up or summarizing your paper in you concluding paragraph.

1) Develop a clear and concise thesis that will be argued and proven throughout the length of your essay.
2) You must research and use at least five different sources, two of which were not covered during class and provide support for your argument from readings and discussions within class.
3) Organize your essay into coherent paragraphs, where each paragraphs discusses one main idea.
4) Use specific interpersonal and intercultural examples to support your points.
5) When being submitted, you must hand in the 1) Final Draft, 2) Rough Draft.
