EXPLAIN THE STAGES OF FORMING A GROUP

Introduction
The systems theory describes change in behavior as the resultant effect of people receiving messages that motivate their actions. As per the definition, adhering to the principles of the theory can prove critical in ensuring the accomplishment of different goals in organizations. This is because the theory recognizes communication as the link between people conveying messages and the audiences of the message. In the case of small organizations such as Blind Spot, success in using the theory requires implementation of strategies that influence behavior change in individuals (Rothwell, 2013, p. 45). The theory also categorizes organization as systems that respond differently to the use of different models in communication. As discussed in the book in mixed company, the theory befits an interdisciplinary model to solving problem hence the paper supports the use of the theory by Blind Spot. Elizabeth, Miranda, Mangal, Kalkhorani, Rosa, and Karim are the members of the organization supposed to steer the project of ensuring safety of the masses using roads. As part of the team, I liaised with other members of Blind Spot in ensuring the accomplishment of the agenda of eradicating vices such as drunk driving. The motive is emanates from the need to solve a number of societal problems such reducing accidents in using systems theory.
Theory from the book
Dan Rothwell in his book states that using systems theory in understanding the motive behind individual behavior is essential because the theory insinuates that people act responsibly whenever convinced to do so. The theory also identifies delegation of duties as the guiding principles in solving misunderstanding in organizations. When using roads for example, road users ought to rely on the theory in considering themselves as the beneficiary of the resource. As the coordinator, I noticed that the use of the theory was helpful in coordinating exchange of ideas. The theory also formed the basis of my communication with nonmembers. Lastly, communication as interdisciplinary helped bolster communication as the principle strategy for ensuring efficiency in eradicating drink driving.
Group: Blind spot
An organization is a system of units directing energy towards the accomplishment of a specified goal. Prior to the formation of such entities, members agree on specified set of rules after which, all abide by rules in pursing their agenda. In the case of blind spot, a group whose aim is to dissuade individuals from risky behavior, the systems theory served as the guideline for communication in ensuring the accomplishment of the objective (Baran & Davis, 2011). Going by the events over the years, the formation of the group was necessary since deaths on roads were leading to loss of lives. Compliance to the principles of the system theory was necessary since communication creates understanding (Baran & Davis, 2011). In addition to identifying the factors contributing to road menace, the approach facilitated dissemination of information within the group thus a reduction in cases of conflict within the group.
I together with other group members who include Kalkhorani and Mangel made the decision to synergize our efforts in devising ways for curbing the menace. During the planning stage, members came up with suggestions on ways of improving communication with the knowledge that communication influences behavior of people. We devised suitable strategies for creating understanding amid members such as having interpersonal dialogue (Rothwell, 2013, p. 287). Understanding communication patterns in society proved critical in our case since dialogue facilitated the conveyance of message to the masses. In line with the systems theory, the team leaders assigned members of the group different tasks as the first step. The obligation involved both formal and informal tasks. For the formal duties, the leaders collaborated with Elizabeth in studying the problem. Both verbal and non-verbal techniques applied in the communication of the information to the group.
The informal roles assigned to the members included social and disruptive duties (Seeger, Sellnow & Ulmer, 2012, p. 231). Individuals with slow tempers took disruptive duties that requires critical analysis, whereas temperamental members undertook the remaining task. Being a person of moderate temper, Miranda who had the desire of helping her peers steer agendas that improve the wellbeing of the masses in the community served as the team leader. Unlike many of his colleagues, he was passionate about creating groups that motivate youths to take part in communal development initiatives. For the time she served as the team leader, she dealt with all manner of challenges without fear or favor. She used her oratory skills in convincing people to respect road signs.
