Kofi Annan
Kofi Annan is a Ghanaian diplomat born in April 8th 1938. Annan was born in Comassie, Gold Coast which is now known as Kumasi in Ghana. Annan is a well known African person having served at the United Nations Seventh Secretary General; he served as at January 1st 1997 to December 31st 2006. Surveys have indicated that the United Nations and Annan were the Nobel Peace Prize 2001 co-recipients. They were recognized for spearheading a peaceful and an organized world. Annan has also served at the United Nations Arab league Joint Special Representative for Syria from February 23rd 2012 to August 31st 2012; Annan was influential in finding a peaceful resolution basing on the conflicts that were ongoing in the region. Annan was born in an elite family; some of the family members were influential in the society.
It was noted that Annan quit the United Nations after he got frustrated by the inability of the organization to progress agendas put forward in offering conflict resolutions in the affected regions.
