4 Research question
The research question is “To what extent can the Nigerian Petroleum Bill (2012) help to improve the oil & gas sector of Nigeria? A critical analysis”. Certain metrics for measuring the productivity, efficiency, and output, will be developed in the research.
1.5 Objectives
Objectives of the research are given as follows.
• Evaluate the state of affairs in the downstream, upstream, and midstream sectors of Nigeria.
• Obtain evidence of proposed improvement in the PIB, the infrastructure needed to implement these improvements, and the barriers against these improvements
• Conduct a set of interviews with senior managers of the Nigerian oil industry, and managers of foreign oil firms, to obtain divergent/ convergent views about the PIB.
