Review Chapter 4 in the course text, Orientation to the Counseling Profession: Advocacy, Ethics, and Essential Professional Foundations, focusing on the different theories. Consider which theories you believe would influence your practice as a counselor.
Review the article, “Differentiating Between Counseling Theory and Process.” Focus on the application of theory in counseling and interventions associated with each theory. Think about which theoretical interventions you might find useful as a counselor.
Review the article, “Processes and Stages of Change: Counseling With the Transtheoretical Model of Change,” and consider whether theoretical integration would be effective in your practice as a counselor.
Select four theories you believe would influence your practice. Consider which of these four theories would have the most influence in informing your personal approach to counseling.
