On a serious note, what follows are the outlines of the final paper for this course. To begin with, the paper is short (three FULL pages—excluding the mandatory title and reference pages); therefore, I will be a stickler for APA and formatting issues. The content of the paper is quite simple, you’ll need to find an ethical issue within one of the three components of the CJ system (police, courts, corrections)…Unfortunately, there are millions, Gasp!Once identified, you’ll need to research the historical development of the issue (across time). You’ll need to identify the issue and discuss its ethical concerns as you’ve learned them in the course, that is, you’ll need to use the same language that we’ve talked about throughout the semester. Lastly, discuss what solutions have been posited to deal with this issue. Be sure that the topic you select is current and specific. That is, rather than saying “police corruption”, tell me specifically about which type of corruption are you referring? Simple? I know.In terms of APA, you’ll need to utilize the 6th edition (located in the PSEC library and through online resources). As for references, you MAY use sources from the peer-reviewed literature as well as popular magazines, internet sources, and the like…this is a rare exception because I typically get a heart attack when students use such sources, but I am making the exception for you folks because I like you and want to make your life that much easier.Lastly, DON’T PLAGIARIZE OR CHEAT!!! Your work will go through SafeAssign (which is a software program that checks for similarities). A similarity percentage above 30% will fail.It would really suck if you plagiarized or cheated in an Ethics course…wouldn’t it?
