Assignment 1.3: Investigate a Social Issue Draft
Faculty Note: Students will turn in this assignment twice: first as a draft (Week 8 Assignment) and then as a final paper (Week 10 Assignment). Students will submit first draft of the assignment and then submit the final draft after receiving feedback from the professor and making the recommended changes. They will be graded separately for each submission of the assignment.
Instructions for Brilliant Papers:
I have already developed a thesis statement and developed an outline in which I explored three (3) main points relevant to my topic of interest. Now I need to incorporate one full page of text to develop a draft paper in which I explore my main points in detail. After, doing so the paper should be at least 3 pages long and the reference should be on a separate page in addition. The paper is in the attachments for this site.
Write a 1 page paper (no cover page needed) in which you:
1. Introduce your paper with your previously crafted thesis statement.
2. Describe how your issue fits into the field of sociology. Determine the sociological theories and terminology from the text that apply to your social issue. (Note: Link back to the main points described in the outline.)
3. Discuss what is known and unknown about your particular issue. (Note: Link back to the main points described in the outline.)
4. Discuss the value of sociological research into your issue. Determine whether or not there are (or would be) practical implications of sociological inquiry. (Note: Link back to the main points described in the outline.)
5. Use three (3) credible sources and APA citations where appropriate.
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
• Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format.
• The reference page is not included in the required assignment page length.
